Death Must Die: Best Gods & Goddesses Tier List

The various Gods and Goddesses you encounter in Death Must Die are what can make or break a successful run to completion.

The effectiveness of each God will depend on the order they present themselves to you and what character you are playing as. There is no definitive God that stands above the others.

That said specialising in certain blessings has proven more effective than others, so here’s our ranking for the best Gods and Goddesses.   

Best Gods & Goddesses Tier List

S Tier

• Starting us off with our most overpowered gods and goddesses, we have Mort the Daughter of Death.

Death has some of the most powerful blessings in the game. Her damage boons such as the Ravens of Pestilence and Soul stealers all inflict stacked cursed damage on your enemies from afar.

This combined with Mayhem means you can be stacking up damage by 200% by the end of a run.

Add to this the life link boon letting you steal health from enemies and add to yours, makes her one of the best options in the game!

• We also have Time the God of Time in S Tier. He’s perhaps the strongest support god in the game. He allows for quicker levelling up, faster map traversal and random boons like pandemonium which will upgrade everything else.

He’ll also grant you a free revive and 6% damage on all attacks which will stacks over time.

A Tier

• First in the A tier we have Lady Justice, an excellent support God. She’s one of the only Goddesses that offers you a means to heal yourself as well as damage resistance boons.

Justice works well when complimenting the other Gods, the Pandemonium boon being a great way to buff up your run.

• We also have Moirai Goddesses of Fate in the A Tier. These Goddesses are great for supplementing your other more stronger boons. They synergize with just about any playstyle and character. We recommend having dice to reroll your abilities with the fates.

B Tier

Our B Tier Gods are the ones that are never particularly bad, but also never particularly great.

• We have Krom, who can give you extra attack speed and some pretty decent single target options.  

• There’s also Winter, a pretty solid option who can deal strong ice damage and freeze enemies around you. The Frost Dragon is also able to deal pretty strong damage!

• Finally, there’s Leigong God of Lightning. If you’re running a luck-based build, then this God is going to be next to useless. Alternatively, you can go pretty far by choosing Haste and Lightning Bolt with Nixi or Merris. Sometimes he’s amazing, other times he’s useless!

C Tier

• There’s just one Goddess in our C Tier and its Summer Goddess of Fire. Now she definitely does get more hate than she deserves! But also, she’s the least likely for anyone to make a sole build with.

All Summer is able to accomplish is heavy damage, but there’s no real versatility to her. The Gehenna boon is the only thing stopping her from being a D Tier, since you can absolutely wipe the floor of enemies with it!
