Just like most games these days, your save files for Hogwarts Legacy aren’t located inside the game’s folder itself. Instead, they’re located in a different location.

If you want to access those save files for various purposes, this guide will show you where they are.

For the most part, players who want to access their Hogwarts Legacy save files do so in order to make a backup of those saves.

This allows them to go back to a certain period in the game or keep a backup just in case their current save suddenly gets corrupted or accidentally deleted.

That said, you will be able to find your save files in this location:

Local Disk (C:) > Users > Your Username > AppData > Local > Hogwarts Legacy > Saved >SaveGames

Here’s how you can get there:

  1. Press both the Windows Key and R at the same time.
  2. In the blank field, type “appdata” without quotation marks. Hit Enter afterward.
  3. This should then bring up the Appdata folder. After that, navigate to the Local folder and look for Hogwarts Legacy.
  4. Click on the Hogwarts Legacy folder and head to Saved > SaveGames.
  5. You should then be able to see all of your save files inside the folder.

However, this only applies to the PC version. If you’re playing on a PS5, you’ll need to follow different steps.

Unlike the PC version, PS5 automatically saves your game data to the cloud as long as the Auto-Sync feature is enabled.

To retrieve your Hogwarts Legacy save in a PS5 console, you want to head to Settings and locate Save Data and Game/App Settings.

After that, choose the Cloud Storage option then select Hogwarts Legacy from the list of games that appears. Then, simply choose the Download button to transfer the save files to your console.
