In Hytale, Voidhearts are an epic material you’ll need if you want to craft some of the strongest weapons in the game, like mythril-tier gear. The catch? They’re rare, they’re tricky, and hunting them can feel like playing hide-and-seek with a really cranky monster. But don’t worry, I’ve been there, farmed through countless mobs, and I’m here to save you some frustration.

Why Voidhearts Are Worth the Grind

Voidhearts are one of those materials you can’t just stumble upon. They drop from void creatures, which are scattered across the game’s biomes, mostly appearing at night. You’ll need them if you’re serious about upgrading your weapons and gearing up for the higher-tier battles, so it’s worth knowing exactly where and how to hunt them efficiently.

Where to Hunt Them (Voidheart Location)

Contrary to what some might think, Voidhearts aren’t locked to a single biome. That said, the snow biome (open snow, not the snowcap mountains) is an absolute hotspot. You’ll find flying creatures with big, glowing eyes all over the place, and they often spawn alongside other void enemies. These mobs are easy to spot against the white snow, which makes targeting them much less frustrating than in darker, cluttered zones.

That said, the desert biome also seems to spawn these mobs frequently, and don’t forget the Void Crawlers, they’ve surprised me with a drop or two. Honestly, you never know where you might get lucky, so be prepared to explore and fight a few different types of void creatures.

Understanding Drop Rates

One thing you need to know upfront is that Voidhearts have a low drop rate. You could kill a dozen void mobs and only walk away with a handful of Voidhearts or just some essence of the void. The strongest void enemies, the Void Spawn and Void Eye, are your best bet, but even the little Void Larvas can drop one (I got my first from a tiny larva, no kidding).

Because of this, farming is part of the process. Pack some food, stock up on your weapons, and be ready to put in a bit of time. Gear like at least iron armor will help make sure you don’t get wiped out by these night-time nasties.

Spotting Void Enemies

The easiest way to find void creatures is to look for their glowing eyes. They stand out beautifully at night, which is probably why I recommend nighttime hunting for efficiency. From weakest to strongest, here’s the lineup you might encounter:

Void Larva, Void Crawler, Void Spectre, Void Spawn, and the dreaded Void Eye. All of them drop Voidhearts, but as mentioned, your chances improve the closer you get to the top of that list.

My Personal Voidheart Farming Tips

I’ve found that staying mobile and focusing on high-density zones makes the grind much smoother. Snow biomes are usually packed with flying void creatures, so it’s easy to rack up kills without wandering too far. Desert biomes, on the other hand, give you variety, including those tricky Crawlers that sometimes drop a heart when you least expect it. Keep an eye out, stay patient, and eventually, your stash of Voidhearts will grow.

Farming in Dread Wave: Voidheart Jackpot

One of the best spots to farm for Voidhearts once you’re ready is the Dread Wave dimension that you can reach by unlocking the Ancient Gateway. This is a darker, swampy area with a seven-minute exploration window and a three-minute void breach. A “ravenous menace” lurks here, and the swamp is full of dangerous fauna. Tentacles, poison trees, and a massive tree stump dominate the landscape, giving it a very eerie vibe.

Enemies are scarce at first, but here’s the kicker: if you stay until the portal closes, a bunch of void enemies will start spawning, giving you three full minutes to farm for void essence and, most importantly, Voidhearts. There are no caves in this dimension, leaving that massive tree stump as the main focal point, which I can only imagine will hold even more dangerous enemies in future updates. Dread Wave isn’t just spooky, it’s arguably the most efficient way to farm Voidhearts if you can survive the void breach.

Wrap-Up

Farming Voidhearts in Hytale is all about patience, persistence, and knowing where to look. Whether you’re in the snowy tundra, the blazing desert, or just chasing Crawlers around the night, you’ll eventually see those coveted purple drops in your inventory. And once you’ve stocked up, you’ll be ready to craft some serious weapons.

Speaking of weapons, if you want to know which ones are actually worth your time before you start using your Voidhearts, check out my guide Hytale: Weapons Tier List (Best Weapon) because swords are cool… until someone pulls out a railgun.
