It doesn’t really have a set spawn location or anything of the sort, and it seems to spawn quite rarely to boot. It’s not really needed for anything either, at least as of this writing, but it’s still nice to flex if you wish to see everything the game has to offer!
In this quick guide, I’ll tell you everything I know about how to find Diamonds.
Where to Find Diamonds in Hytale
Unlike most other resources in Hytale, Diamonds seem to not have a set biome. It’s not like finding Gold Ore, for example, which is most common in the snowy Whisperfrost Frontiers mountains.

On top of this, Diamond spawns also seem to be pretty rare. You’re most likely going to need to explore quite a bit to find them, if you’re unlucky.
With that in mind, one of the best spots to look for is near the ocean floor. Particularly near the Whisperfrost Frontiers (snowy) and Devastated Lands (volcano) biomes. Diamonds seem to be relatively common near the ocean floor, due to their proximity to the bottom of the world.
As a tip for underwater mining, you can create safe pockets for air. You just need to find a cliff or similar and dig a hole that’s 2-3 blocks tall. If you dig it from the side, water won’t get in!
Alternatively, you can try going into the holes in the Devastated Lands. They are massive drops that lead into lava, so you need to be careful when falling into them by using water or digging carefully.
These holes all lead deep underground, however! So, they put you pretty close to the bottom of the world. They are a solid place to look for Diamonds.
Ultimately, trying to get Diamonds in Hytale relies heavily on luck. Their rarity and less defined spawns make them quite tough to find, so I wish you the best of luck!
Diamonds are definitely not the only precious gem in this game, however. For example, you can also get Sapphires! Those are used for the Ice Crystal Staff, which expands your combat potential.
