Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is here, bringing with it the new “Rob a Vault” quest that requires you to collect a Dill Bit and spend it at a Black Market.

This quest is fairly straightforward. Break into the vault of any of the banks on the map and rob them to collect Dill Bits. Then take these Dill Bits to any of the Black Markets spread around the map to cash them in for sweet loot. However, the fact that it’s straightforward doesn’t really mean it’s easy!

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to do to collect and spend Dill Bits.

How to Collect and Spend a Dill Bit at a Black Market Location | Fornite Chapter 6 Season 2

Vault Locations | Fortnite: Collect a Dill Bit & Spend a Dill Bit at a Black Market Location

The first thing you need to do to collect a Dill Bit is to go to one of the 4 Bank Vaults on the island. The map above shows all of their locations. As you can see, there’s one in each of these named locations: Lonewolf Lair, Crime City, Masked Meadows, and Seaport City. We recommend trying to land on or near one of these spots at the very start of the match.

There are also 2 Secret Vaults for you to find this Season. However, those are different from the Bank Vaults and don’t contain Dill Bits.

Thermite

As soon as you land, you will need to grab some Thermite. You can get it randomly from Go Bags and Outlaw Vending Machines. As far as we can tell, it’s extremely common so you’re very likely to get it as you grab loot for weapons at the start of any match.

Thermite on the Vault

Once you have the Thermite, head over to the nearest Bank Vault. We’ll be using the Crime City Bank Vault for our example, but they all work mostly the same. Just approach the vault’s door and you’ll be able to put the Thermite on it.

Shoot the Weakspots

Now, certain parts of the vault’s gate will start glowing bright orange due to the Thermite’s effect. Shoot these bright spots to break them and finish opening up the vault. Do be warned that Assault Guard NPCs will appear to attack you as well! Fletcher Kane might also appear to protect the vault, depending on where he spawned.

When you finally open the vault, enter it and you’ll find Dill Bits encased in glass displays. Just grab them and you’re done.

Alternatively, you can also loot Dill Bits from other players. It’s unreliable, but it works if you’re late to the Bank Vaults…

Time to Spend the Dill Bit – Where to Find the Lawless Black Markets

Black Markets | Fortnite: Collect a Dill Bit & Spend a Dill Bit at a Black Market Location

When you finally have some Dill Bits, you need to take them to one of the Lawless Black Markets on the map. There are 3 in total: one near Crime City, one north of Masked Meadows, and one in Magic Mosses. We’ve marked all 3 of them in the map for you above.

As you can also see, these Black Markets will appear on your in-game map as house-shaped icons. If you’re tracking the “Rob a Vault” quest, they’ll also be highlighted by quest markers.

Purchase | Fortnite: Collect a Dill Bit & Spend a Dill Bit at a Black Market Location

Once you enter one of these Black Markets, just look around and check the displays. There’s a lot of powerful equipment that you purchase by using your Dill Bits, including Legendary and Mythic tier weapons. Just buy anything you want to spend the Dill Bit and complete the objective!

So, there you have it, that’s all you need to know to collect and spend a Dill Bit at a black market as part of the “Rob a Vault” quest in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2. Do be warned, though, that many players will be trying to complete this objective currently. As such, expect a lot of hostiles when you get close to the Bank Vaults! We wish you the best of luck.
