It’s no surprise to find a popular media reference as an easter egg in Borderlands games, and the Shrek easter egg in Borderlands 4 is a great example of that. To find this one, you’ll need to brave a dangerous-looking cave! But where exactly is that cave? And what do you even get for finding it? Read on, we’ll answer all of your questions!

You can find Shrek and Donkey… er, I mean, Wreck and Burro on the southmost part of Idolator’s Noose. This is just a little bit west of the Wyclef’s Reprieve safehouse, if you’ve already unlocked that one. It’s an area known as Mirehome.

Just go to that location on the map and you should notice a large broken pipe. Ignore all the signs warning you not to go in there. Walk through the holes in the pipe to reach a small cave where Wreck and Burro are hiding! We would tell you to say hi, but they’re both hostile from the get-go. So, be ready for a fight.

While Wreck and Burro aren’t particularly tough, we do recommend not using Corrosive weapons. They both resist that element, so you’ll do very little damage. This is especially true if you’re playing on higher difficulties, since that boosts their defenses even further.

Nonetheless, just defeat them and you’re all done here! Sadly, they do not seem to have any unique loot drops or anything like that. Or, at the very least, it doesn’t seem that way currently. It’s always possible they do have a rare drop that nobody knows about yet. Either way, it was still a nice little easter egg to find.

That’s all you need to know to find the location of the Shrek easter egg in Borderlands 4. While we definitely wish there was a bit more to them, it’s still a nice little secret!
