If you want to access the Underground area past the precipice in Blue Prince, you’ll need to find the locations for all 4 blue flame valves.
The process itself is relatively simple. Explore specific rooms to find yellow valves and activate them. Once you do, 1 of 4 blue flames will activate near the precipice of the manor’s grounds. Activate all 4 to reveal a new area!
In this guide, we’ll tell you the exact locations of every blue flame’s valve and how to reach them.
How To Access The Underground Precipice Area | Blue Prince: All 4 Blue Flame Locations
Apple Orchard
Let’s kick things off with the easiest of all the 4 blue flame locations required to enter the Underground area by the precipice in Blue Prince. For this one, you just need to unlock the Apple Orchard first.
If you haven’t unlocked the Apple Orchard, you can find it by opening the white fence near the Campsite while you’re in The Grounds. The code for the gate is 1128, so just input it into the keylock to open it.
Once you enter the Apple Orchard, check the fence to your left. You should notice a yellow valve somewhere near the middle of the fence. Interact with it to turn it and activate the first blue flame. One down, three left!
Gemstone Cavern
For the second Blue Flame, you’ll need to unlock the Gemstone Cavern area in The Grounds. If you haven’t done so yet, you’ll need to find the random Utility Closet room during one of your forays into the manor. Then solve its VAC Indicators light puzzle to unlock the Gemstone Cavern.
The puzzle itself can take a bit to explain. Basically, you just need to manipulate the lights to have the pattern shown above. From left to right: off, blue, green, white, red, purple. However, the process is fairly lengthy.
With that puzzle done, you just need to visit the Gemstone Cavern whenever you’re in The Grounds. Look for a yellow valve to the right of the entrance and turn it over to activate the second blue flame!
Hovel
For this one, you need to unlock the West Gate at The Grounds. If you’ve done that already, you can skip to the end of this section. If you haven’t, similar to the previous one, this one also requires you to find the Utility Closet room with the breaker box. This time, though, you just need to turn on the breaker for the Garage, no puzzle needed.
Once you’ve done that, you need to look for the Garage room. Like nearly all other rooms in the game, this one has a random location each time you visit the manor. However, it always spawns on the western side of the manor.
When you reach the Garage, use the switch by one of the walls to open the Garage’s door. Go through it to reach the West Path.
Once you exit the Garage, take the first left you can to go off the beaten path.
Then, take the left once again when you reach the point where the path splits.
Interact with the door at the end of the path to unlock the West Gate, which you can use to draft rooms when you’re in The Grounds.
Now that you have unlocked the West Gate, return to The Grounds and use it until you can draft a Hovel as one of your rooms.
Draft the Hovel and enter it. Check the far-right wall opposite of the entrance to find the yellow pipeline with the valve. Turn the valve to activate the 3rd blue flame!
Schoolhouse
Like the Hovel, this requires you to unlock the West Gate at The Grounds. We explained how to do that in the previous section if you’ve still yet to do it.
That aside, you just need to interact with the West Gate until you’re able to draft a Schoolhouse.
With the Schoolhouse in place, enter it and check the backside of the stove in the middle of the room. You’ll find the yellow valve stuck right behind it, so just turn it over and you’re all done here.
That’s all of the 4 blue flame locations in Blue Prince, activating them all will unlock an elevator that takes you to the Underground area at the bottom of the precipice. Now you just need to explore it!
