Saints Row: How to Get a Helicopter | Location Guide

Given the expectations placed on the new Saints Row from previous entries, it makes sense that you’ll be getting access to a whole wide range of different vehicles to traverse the large open-world environment.

Here’s our quick Saints Row guide on how to get a helicopter and helipad at Saints HQ.

How to Get a Helicopter in Saints Row

Thankfully, it is actually fairly easy to obtain a helicopter earlier on the game than you might expect – you won’t be forced to do some ridiculous grinding or questline to get access.

The easiest and fastest way to obtain one is through the mission reward for Neenah’s Car and The Forge quests. Once you’ve completed ‘The Forge,’ you’ll obtain the Thompson helicopter, in addition to the Saints HQ helipad.

We recommend opting to obtain the helicopter this way as opposed to finding one in a base, because this allows it to be permanently saved to your HQ garage.

One example of the luck-based route is via the mansion overlooking Monte Vista. This is North East of the Church HQ – just note you cannot save it into your garage without having the helipad as well. So, the helicopter will respawn in this spot, but you can’t access it from HQ.

Unlocking it by progressing further in the campaign makes much more sense – after Neenah’s car is destroyed by Sergio, you’ll start upon ‘The Forge.’

This involves meeting Neenah and driving to take over control of a helicopter in the marina.

Completing the mission will unlock the Thompson helicopter: once you’ve helped Neenah hotwire Sergio’s car you can hop into the getaway car to make your escape.
