Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous features a secret ending that can only be obtained by completing a large set of requirements.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get this special ending. Do be warned that this guide might contain spoilers.

To get this ending, you will have to keep quite a few things in mind.

First, note that this ending is not available if you pick the Legend or Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path. You also need to complete the entire Mythic questline to reach Mythic Rank 10.

On the note of Mythic Paths, Trickster and Demon have easier access to the full Ascension ending. That’s because they get access to extra New Nahyndrian Crystals.

These are key to the ending and are primarily obtained by defeating Demon Lords struck by Midnight Bolts. Remember to use these special bolts to finish them off!

You need at least one Nahyndrian Crystal to get the secret ending, but you can get a total of 6. You can ascend your full party and a key NPC if you collect all 6.

Alternatively, the Treasure of the Midnight Isles Prey DLC will allow you to fight another Demon Lord for another Nahyndrian Crystal.

You must also enter Threshold between days 16 and 21 of the Gozran Month. Lastly, you want to get the Storyteller’s notes and complete his questline to make it easier to get a key item for this ending.

Now, let’s go over the key decisions you must make to get the ending.

Key Story Choices for the Ascension Ending

The first thing to look out for is Areelu’s Lab which you must visit during Act 3. Also, make sure to explore it thoroughly to find one part of the Lexicon of Paradox inside it.

You will meet Areelu and Suture there. Make sure to keep Suture alive, as he’s important for this ending! Also, make sure to do the Sword of Valor research project during this act.

During Act 4, look for the second half of the Lexicon of Paradox inside Nocticula’s Palace. Right click on either half of the Lexicon to complete it, but you must pass a few difficult checks first.

Remember that you can make these checks easier by obtaining the Storyteller’s notes.

Later in Act 5, you will get to Iz. Warn Hulrun of an attack on his camp but don’t follow him. Continue west to meet with Queen Galfrey.

Pick up the Crystal Key where you meet with Galfrey, then check for a hidden passageway in the area. You will need to pass a Perception check to obtain the Glass Key.

You must also complete the following research projects:

  • Unusual Crystals
  • Records of Pulura’s Stargazers
  • Areelu Vorlesh’s Drafts

Of course, you must also keep an eye out for Midnight Bolts during the story. Use these to finish off Demon Lords to get the New Nahyndrian Crystals mentioned previously in this guide.

When you’ve got everything you need, head to Threshold on the 16th to the 21st of Gozran. Proceed through the dungeon as normal until you beat the Echo of Deskari. Now, exhaust all dialogue with Areelu and fight her.

Next, exhaust all dialogue about making her change her mind about her experiments. Pick the first option of the dialogue and then exhaust the rest in order. Choose to work with her when presented with the option.

Continue exhausting dialogue that will keep the conversation going. You will present everything you’ve learned to Areelu and she will summon Deskari and Baphomet.

Take out the bosses to complete the game and earn the Ascension ending!
