Normally, you can only choose your profile picture from a selection of character portraits in the game. However, if you want to stand out, you can just go for a trash can picture.
We’ll tell you how to do it in this guide.
Switch Your Profile Picture to a Trash Can in Honkai: Star Rail
First, you want to unlock the trash can picture in the game. Simply play through the game normally and progress through the main storyline until you arrive at the Administrative District.

Instead, what you need to do is turn left near the entrance where NPC Manya is standing. To her left is a trash can that you can interact with.
Just keep on interacting with the trash until the conversation finishes. Dan Heng and March 7th will comment about digging through the trash inside.
Just keep on interacting until you exhausted their dialogs.
After that, you will eventually obtain the Trash Can item. With this, you can now choose the trash can from the selection of profile pictures available.
That said, open your menu and click on your current profile picture right next to your account name. From there, all you have to do is choose the trash can picture from the selection.
There’s really no beneficial effect for doing this other than it makes you a bit unique since instead of using the available pictures in the selection, you’re using a trash can as your picture.
