Crimson Desert is a massive game and quest bugs are something a lot of players are running into right now. Some of them are genuine bugs and others are missed triggers or skipped conversations that just look like something has broken. Either way it is frustrating when your quest stops progressing and you have no idea why.

None of these fixes are guaranteed to work for every situation but they have sorted things out for a large number of players running into the same issues. In this guide, I will walk you through each one so you can work through them and hopefully get your quest moving again.

Bugged Quest Fixes

If you hover over the large question marks on your map, they will show up as “Mysterious Energy“. Most of these turn out to be either an Abyss Nexus or an Abyss Cresset. Both of these function as fast travel points scattered across the map.

Whenever you get stuck on a quest or cannot proceed because of a bug or a missing NPC, fast travel to one of these points and then make your way back to the quest location.

It sounds too simple to work but it can result in the quest being fixed. The act of loading into a different area and traveling back seems to reset certain quest states that get stuck. It is worth trying before anything else.

Save & Reload Method

If the first method does not work, head to the “Others” menu and select “Save” to make a manual save. Once you have done that, click “Load” and load up the save file you just made. A large number of players have reported this sorting out their stuck quests where nothing else did. Right now it is the most reliable fix in the game for quest related issues.

That’s It

That covers the main fixes worth trying when a quest stops working in Crimson Desert. Neither of them are guaranteed but between the fast travel reset and the manual save reload, most quest issues have been solvable without waiting for a patch.

Pearl Abyss are actively working on the known bugs so things will get more stable over time. In the meantime these two methods are your best bet for getting things moving again.
