With the new Chapter 3 Season 3, the ability to ride animals was introduced, providing players with a new way to navigate the island.

You can only ride a wolf or a boar for now because they’re the only large creatures on the map, but who knows whether they’ll add new animals or bring back the Raptors soon? Find out how to ride an animal in Fortnite below.

Animals Location in Fortnite

Naturally, you need to find an animal first before you can ride it. Boars are mostly seen inside walled areas of Shifty Shafts, shown in the image above, but they can also be found in and near woodland areas.

However, since animals travel the map throughout a match, a specific animal location cannot be guaranteed. It is highly recommended to go to a spot like Shifty Shafts and find a boar inside a pen before another player does.

Jump on the back of an animal in Fortnite to ride it. Click the jump button and aim for the animal’s back to begin riding it for as long as possible.

To dismount, you can either double jump or press “Dismount” in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Return to the wolf or boar and leap on its back when you’re ready to get back on.
