In Astroneer, power is essential since, without it, you won’t be able to produce new tools to aid interplanetary travel.

You will first receive power from your base to get you started in the game, but you will quickly outgrow the supply. Thus, we have devised a way to utilize the Solar Panels efficiently.

How to Use Solar the Right Way in Astroneer

Solar panels are devices that generate power and continuously do so when they are exposed to the sun. Different amounts of power are produced depending on the solar gadget being used and the globe it is being used on.

Small, Medium, and Large Solar Panels, as well as the Solar Array, are the four types of craftable Solar Panels. However, there is one non-craftable Solar Panel called the Wrecked Array.

Utilizing Solar Panel

We all know that the Solar Panel is the most used source of power in Astroneer, but it has one particular weakness. Without direct sunlight, how else would you get power?

Fortunately, there are two ways to get unlimited sunlight for your Solar Panels. The first one is to put your Solar Panels on the opposite ends of the planet and connect them to your base with an extender.

This way, you’ll still get sunlight even if it’s nighttime on the opposite side. Alternatively, you can put Solar Panels on the North or South Pole, where there is always sunlight.

The tricky part is that they need to be upside down to be exposed to direct sunlight. To do this, just build a ramp and put the solar panel upside down, and you’re all done.
