You must charge up the Chain Attack gauge on the right side of your screen before you can conduct Chain Attacks. This displays only during battle and is always empty when you begin a conflict.

Perform any of the following acts during combat to fill it up:

  • Cancel Arts Attacks
  • Combos must be performed.
  • Carry out Role Action

How To Start A Chain Attack

Start The Chain Attack

When the gauge is complete, press the + button to start the Chain Attack. Wait for the animation to finish before selecting one of three Chain Orders with which to guide the Chain. These Orders will be drawn randomly from your current party, with Heroes included if you have one.

Look At Each Order’s Completion Bonus

To begin, look at each Order’s Completion Bonus beneath their highlighted photo and take note of their job (Attacker, Defender, or Healer). Then, select the one you want for your first Chain Attack and its card.

Launch A Multi-Hit Assault

When a Chain Order hits 100 per cent or above, the character shown on the Chain Order’s card will launch a multi-hit assault with the damage multiplier shown at the bottom right of the screen. The additional damage you receive is determined by how fully you filled the meter in the preceding stage.
