As a game with massive 16v16 combat, you can expect the battlefield in Warhaven to be pretty chaotic. However, the addition of classes into the game adds more flavor as players will be able to play different playstyles that suit them.
There are tons of classes in Warhaven, two of which are the Darkgale and the Warhammer. In this guide, we’ll have a look at what these two classes have to offer.
How to Play Warhammer and Darkgale Class Guide in Warhaven
The Warhammer and Darkgale are two different classes with different specializations. Let’s talk about the Warhammer first.
Warhammer Class Overview and Abilities
The Warhammer is a class that, as the name implies, wields a huge warhammer in battle. As with most melee classes in the game, the Warhammer is all about frontal melee combat. It uses its trusty warhammer to bring down groups of enemies in a single swing.
Its abilities are as follows:
Sprint Attack – Performs a downward strike after sprinting by pressing your Left Mouse button.
Hammer Blow – Deals a heavy blow to your target after charging your warhammer. Activate by holding your Left Mouse button and releasing after charging.
Headbutt – Press E to disrupt your target’s attack, stunning him in the process.
Ground Slam – Jumps up into the air and slams the ground using your hammer, dealing damage in a small AOE.
Spike Barricade – Allows you to build a Spike Barricade to prevent enemy entry.
Darkgale Class Overview and Abilities
Now, let’s move on to the Darkgale. The Darkgale uses a spear to impale his enemies on the battlefield. Unlike the Warhammer, and the other base classes in the game, the Darkgale is an Immortal. This means you won’t be able to use this class at the start of a battle.
Instead, you can only transform into a Darkgale for a limited period once your Immortal Power gauge on the right side of the screen is full. This is a game mechanic known as Incarnation. As you take part in a battle, you will gain Immortal Power that will go toward filling up the gauge.
After transforming into a Darkgale, you will be riding a horse and charging into battle.
You will also gain access to the following unique skills:
Horseback Charge – Charges toward your enemies with your spear while riding your horse. You need to hold your Right Mouse button while sprinting.
Quick Turn – Allows you to change direction while riding your house by pressing the Shift key.
Wind Lance – A passive ability that creates up to 4 wind lances that will surround your character over time.
Dark Dash – Another passive ability that increases the damage of all of your attacks the faster you travel on your horse.
How to Play the Two Classes
Playing the Warhammer is relatively easy. As a frontal combatant, you just need to charge straight at your enemies and bash their heads using your hammer. In tight spaces, you can build a Spike Barricade to prevent your enemies from advancing.
As for the Darkgale, you need to pay attention to your Immortal Power while in this form. This is because you can only maintain the Darkgale form for a brief period of time. As such, you want to maximize this time by impaling enemies you find along the way.
Ideally, you want to build up your momentum in order to make your horse sprint even faster. The faster you go, the more damage you can deal. This can make for some really exciting plays as you can easily take down groups of enemy players within seconds.
