Warhaven is an upcoming medieval-fantasy game akin to the likes of Chivalry, Mordhau, and For Honor. The game features wide-scale combat between teams of 16 players competing against the rival team. Just like For Honor, Warhaven also features a variety of classes to choose from.
One such class is the Blade class, and in this guide, we’re going to talk about how you can play this specific class.
How to Play the Blade Class in Warhaven
There are several different classes in Warhaven, each offering a unique playstyle as well as a different set of weapons. The Blade class is one that specializes in direct confrontational combat while wielding a two-handed sword. If you’re a fan of wielding big swords in a fighting game, then the Blade is definitely a good choice for you.
Albeit wielding a huge sword, the Blade class is actually surprisingly nimble. In fact, it’s a fairly balanced class as far as offense and defense go. You can swing your sword in a wide area, cleaving enemies that are right in front of you.
Aside from that, you can also gain access to abilities that will work in various situations. Moreover, the class isn’t very difficult to play, making it a perfect choice for most beginners.
Blade Class Abilities
Now let’s take a look at the abilities that the Blade class has to offer. They’re as follows:
Sprint Attack – To perform this attack, you need to press your Left Mouse button while sprinting. This allows you to perform a downward strike that will hit enemies right in front of you.
Hilt Bash – This skill allows you to break enemy defenses and stagger them in the process. This is perfect for countering players and enemies who are using shields by pressing E while near them.
Ox Slash – Launches an enemy player upward by pressing Q. You can then follow it up with a jumping attack, making it a very powerful combo during fights.
Block – This allows you to mitigate incoming damage by blocking them using your sword. Simply press and hold your Right Mouse button to perform this.
Block Dash – After blocking an attack successfully, you can then follow up with the Block Dash ability. This will then allow you to quickly evade to either the left or the right.
As you can see, the Blade’s abilities aren’t that complex and are fairly simple. It all boils down to maximizing those abilities on the battlefield.
Strategy when Playing the Blade Class
To be honest, there’s really no complicated strategy when learning how to play the Blade class in the game. All you need to do is run toward the enemy and use your ability to take him down. If you’re up against a shield-wielding enemy, simply use the Hilt Bash ability to break their guard.
However, you want to avoid fighting in tight, narrow spaces as this will make it hard to swing your huge sword around.
