Undecember: How to Upgrade Rune Grade

One of the exciting features that Undecember has to offer is the rune system. This is essentially similar to Path of Exile’s skill gem system in that your skill is determined by the skill rune you’re using. However, Undecember also introduces its own take on this system.

For example, you can upgrade the grade of your runes in order to improve their utility or make them stronger. Essentially, the higher a rune’s grade, the more powerful it can get.

How to Upgrade Rune Grade in Undecember

There are two types of runes in Undecember. There’s the skill rune which contains an active skill, and there’s the link rune which grants various effects when linked to your active skill. By default, they will come with a Normal rarity with only a single modifier in them.

However, you can actually improve their modifiers and even add more by upgrading their grades. In order to do so, simply head over to the Mystic in town and choose the Rune Enchant option. This will open the Rune Enchant interface.

In the interface, simply choose which rune you want to upgrade by clicking on it. For the purpose of this guide, we’ll be using a Normal rarity rune. After choosing your rune, simply click on it and then click Register.

It will then appear on the rune slot to the left panel. Below it, you’ll also find a handful of options on how you want to modify the rune.

To upgrade its grade to Magic, you will need a Link Rune Magic Upgrade Essence. After that, click on the Enchant button, and this will then convert the rune to Magic rarity. At the same time, it will add a random modifier to the rune.

Then, if you want to upgrade it to Rare, you can just click on the Link Rune Rare Upgrade Essence option. Just make sure you also have the essence in your inventory to use this option. Do take note that the higher a rune’s grade is, the more expensive it will be to upgrade it to one grade above it.
