Undecember is a Hack and Slash ARPG released October 11 in Steam. One of the strongest aspects of the game is the build variety, but like anyone who has played any game with multiple build options can attest, sometimes the freedom is a nightmare.
Spending points on a skill that did not turn out to be as great as one initially thought is really bothersome.
To avoid this from happening to you, we will be sharing some of the best starting builds ideas.
Best Starting Builds in Undecember
Spread Shot & Rapid Shot Build
This is a Ranged and AOE build for Bow. The Spread Shot rune will allow you to fire several arrows over a wide area to cover ground and inflict physical damage on the enemies, while Rapid Shot allows you to fire multiple arrows in quick succession but in a straight line.
Both runes are of the Dexterity type, so you can max out the stat and benefit from both. Being hack and slash, Spread Shot is perfect to take care of mobs while Rapid Shot will allow you to focus your damage for bosses, all while keeping distance to play safe.
This build can be played from the start, and can take you deep into the endgame.
Piercing Arrow Build
With the Piercing Arrow rune, your shoots will go through your enemies. As you can imagine, this will positively affect your DPS in a large way, as the waves of enemies all will suffer from your damage rather than just the front line.
The Piercing Arrow rune becomes available in Act Four, so you probably will need to focus first in the previous build to prepare to use this one. Combining Piercing Arrow and Spread Shot, of course, will only make tearing through your opponents even easier.
Layfon Alseifs Fireball Build
Another build that you can play from day one. Ranged and Intelligence based, very similar to the Spread and Rapid Shot build, but instead of using arrows, you will be shooting fireballs.
That, aside from being great at destroying the monsters that come your way, leaves behind a fire trail for extra DoT if you manage to direct your enemies or the boss to it.
Fissure Build
A really fun build to play with that you can try as soon as you hit Act 2. You can use it if your weapon is of the blunt type, an axe, or a staff. The Fissure rune will make three shocks of earth that spread in front of you, greatly damaging enemies.
It has a catch, however: the further away the enemy is from the fissure the less damage they take, so think of this as a physical build as it is one, because the Fissure rune is Strength-based.
Toxic Flame Whirlwind Build
Another physical build. Toxic Flame and Whirlwind are different runes of the Strength type, but they work very well together. You will need to support the build with good armor to increase your survivability and be able to get close to your opponents.
What Toxic Flame does is shoot a series of flames that spread in front of you and deal Poison Damage Over Time, while Whirlwind will have your character spin over itself. You can move while spinning (called Channeling), dealing damage all around you.
While Toxic Flame can be used with any weapon, Whirlwind is limited to daggers, swords, axes, blunt and staff weapons. The DoT combined with the constant onslaught of Whirlwind will have your enemy’s health dropping very quickly.
Bloodshed Whirlwind Build
Our last build, Physical and Strength-based. This time you will be combining Whirlwind with another rune: Bloodshed.
Bloodshed will limit your weapon selection to only Sword and Axes, and much like the previous build you will want to have good armor to tank hits better while you are near your opponents.
What Bloodshed does is give a chance to affect with a Bleed effect the enemies you hit, and it will create a Domain of Blood upon successfully inflicting the Bleed effect.
With the number of hits you hand out with Whirlwind, triggering the bleed effect is a piece of cake, ensuring that you exploit Bloodshed at its best.
