Imagine this, you go into the game of Tower of Fantasy Global, spend 4 days getting the newcomer rewards, grabbing your SSR Selector and have at the very least, 2 SR characters. As you look through your game currencies, you notice you’ve amassed a hefty amount of pull items and are raring to go use them.
Well, before you do that, here are some things I think you should know before you start your pull.
Biggest Gacha mistakes to avoid in Tower of Fantasy
Before you begin, you have to understand the gacha system and how it works. That way, you would know the dos and don’ts for pulling in Tower of Fantasy.
The standard way of buying a weapon or chip in this game is through chance. That means the experience of pulling for a character differs for each person.
Say for example you pull on the Nemesis Banner, some guys might get her copy on the first five pulls while others, might have to spend a little bit more.
For consolation, the shop has a Hard Pity system where on the 80th draw, you are guaranteed a SSR Character. The pity system does not reset if you get an SSR character on your first few pulls.
That means if you manage to get 2 SSR characters on 70 draws, the 80th draw will still guarantee you a SSR Character.
As you pull through the banners, you would be given black gold tokens for every pull you make. So if you do 120 pulls, that gives you 120 black gold tokens.
Learn when to spend black gold at the weapon shop
With that being said, the first mistake you should avoid is to spend your black gold early on.
The beauty of the black gold token is that you can buy copies of your weapons via the weapons store. You must have at least one copy of the weapon before you can purchase these duplicates. Otherwise, they would be locked at the weapon store.
Limited banner weapons would eventually be transferred to the standard banner. Since this is the Global Launch, the list of who goes into the standard banner and who would remain limited is still unclear.
But this system is going on for the China server so it is safe to assume that mechanic would be in here as well. and when they do, their copies would also be available in the weapon shop for black gold tokens.
Don’t chance Nemesis at 80
Next on the list of mistakes for you to avoid is don’t start pulling unless you have enough for 120 pulls on the limited banner.
Here’s where many people made the mistake of coming in for the pull.
The limited banner is sort of like Flavor of the month. They feature 1 character that has a higher chance for it to be pulled therefore making it a favourite for players since they have a clear idea of who they’re pulling for.
With the hard pity system, you are guaranteed a SSR Character on 80 pulls but it’s a 50% chance of it being Nemesis or another SSR Character.
Most people going in the thought of spending 80 pulls for the pity system to kick in and were surprised upon getting a different SSR character on the limited banner.
On limited banners, you earn separate tokens called flame gold. These can be used to purchase at the limited banner shop. At 120 pulls you could go to the limited shop and purchase a copy of Nemesis.
The next thing to remember is the hard pity carries over to the next limited banner. So if you stopped pulling at 60 pulls, when the next limited banner starts your pity system at 60 pulls.
However, the flame gold tokens are reset through the next limited banner. So there’s no point in hoarding those flame tokens for the next one because that currency only applies to the Nemesis banner.
The good news is at the end of the event those flame gold tokens are converted into black gold and can be used at the weapon shop.
Pull on Standard Matrix Banners
For your Matrices, whenever you get proof of purchase tickets then it’s okay to use them on the standard pulls. Like weapons, matrices also have a pity system so at 80 pulls you are guaranteed a SSR matrix. And the drops on matrices in the standard banners are pretty good.
For the limited Matrix banner, however, this is good for those of you who want to spend cash in-game.
For moderate spenders it’s probably best for you to put your money on the limited weapon pulls, having to spend real money on matrices where the standard matrix banner offers great chances to get good matrix chips seems pretty unnecessary.
If you do want to go for the limited matrix banner pulls, however, here’s the down low on these items.
The pity system activates at 40 pulls. That means, at the 40th pull you are guaranteed a SSR character.
However, there is still a 50% chance of you getting a featured matrix or another SSR matrix. Every pull gives you the overclock token and at 80 pulls you could purchase a copy of the featured matrix at the limited matrix shop.
Dark Crystals are for Red Nucleus and nothing else
Finally, our last tip is Never to spend your dark crystals on anything else but the red nucleus. There is no way to farm these red nucleus tokens so dark crystals should be kept and used only for these.
