In the Runes of Aldur league in Path of Exile 2, you will encounter an NPC named Farrow as you go through the campaign. He will be the one to introduce the mechanics of the league, which involves collecting Runic Remnants and Inscriptions in every map.

After your first encounter with him, he will then introduce you to the Runeseeker questline. This spans across all 4 Acts, but you only need to complete the quest in Act 1 to unlock the Verisium Anvil.

If you’re stuck trying to figure out this quest, this guide has you covered. Let’s get started.

It’s important to interact with Farrow the first time you encounter him and complete the league mechanic. Only then will you be able to start the quest.

Head back to Clearfell Encampment to find Farrow. He’ll then ask you to find Runestones scattered across different areas in all four Acts. As mentioned, you only need to find Runestones in Act 1 to unlock the Verisium Anvil which will grant you access to the runeforging mechanic.

Locating the Runestones in Act 1

This is by far the easiest as the areas are pretty linear. However, since each map has a randomized layout per instance, you might have to do a bit of roaming to find the Runestones.

Grim Tangle Runestones Path of Exile 2

For the first Runestone, head to Grim Tangle, then make your way to the Cemetery of the Eternals. You’ll find it right near the entrance that leads to the area.

Hunting Grounds Runestones Path of Exile 2

The second one can be found in the Hunting Grounds. I believe this one may vary depending on your map’s layout. In my playthrough, the Runestones spawned close to the entrance to the Ogham Farmlands.

Just look to the left or the right of the road and walk a short distance until you find it.

Ogham Farmlands Runestones Path of Exile 2

The last one is in the Ogham Farmlands. You can find it in one of the crop fields, smack dab in its middle. Mine spawned close to the waypoint. Just go down a bit and turn left on the first crop field you come to.

Walk further to the second field and you should be able to see it.

Unlocking the Verisium Anvil

Once you find all the Runestones in the first Act, you’ll unlock the Lost Catacombs area. Simply use the waypoint to teleport to Grelwood to find the entrance in the middle of the huge tree.

Runic Vault Path of Exile 2

Just progress through the area until you reach the entrance to the Runic Vault. Enter the vault and interact with the floating Verisium. Once you’re done, head back to Clearfell Encampment and talk to Farrow.

Runic Ward Path of Exile 2

Exhaust the dialogue and receive the Verisium reward. Afterward, you then unlock the Verisium Anvil. Interact with it if you want to runeforge your armor and add a new defensive layer called Runic Ward. And that’s how you unlock runeforging via the Verisium Anvil in Path of Exile 2.

For this, you need Verisium which you can obtain by interacting with the league mechanic in every map.
