Palworld has like a hundred Pals for you to capture, so it’s no surprise that at least one Pal is suitable for riding.

Rideable Pals can help you get around much quicker, and they also have special abilities when mounted.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get a riding Pal as soon as you start the game!

How to Get Riding Pal – Rushoar

Rushoar Paldeck entry

There many rideable Pals for you to find as you explore the world in Palworld, but Rushoar is by far the easiest to get first. In fact, getting Rushoar is one of the important things you should do first!

Rushoar location on the map

You can find wild Rushoars in the autumn-themed area northwest of the first Rayne Syndicate Tower entrance. It shares a habitat with the Pikachu expy, Sparkit!

Rushoar habitat map

Though, that’s only the closest spawn location to the starting point. Rushoars are extremely common across the world, as you can see on the Paldeck habitat screen above.

Anyway, the ones in the autumn-themed area are the easiest and earliest you can get. They are around Level 5, so they don’t pose much of a threat by the time you get to the area.

Rushoar in the wild

As with every other common Pal, you just need to damage them until they’re low on HP and then throw a Pal Sphere at them.

As usual, bring as many Pal Spheres as you can, or bring higher-tier ones such as Mega Spheres!

Rushoar Saddle requirement

Once you capture it, there’s one more step you need to complete to actually be able to ride it. You now need to craft the Rushoar Saddle!

Getting the Rushoar Saddle

Rushoard Saddle technology

To craft the saddle, you’ll first need to learn the Rushoar Saddle technology at Level 7. Also, you will need to build a Pal Gear Workbench, which is a Level 6 technology.

Once you build the Pal Gear Workbench, interact with it to open the crafting menu. Simply choose to craft the Rushoar Saddle from the menu.

Crafting the saddle

It requires 3 Leather, 10 Stones, and 5 Paldium Fragments. Stones and Paldium Fragments can be obtained commonly by mining.

You can get Leather by hunting various early-game Pals. The easiest and most common around the starting area are Foxparks, Fuacks, and Eikthyrdeer

Once you craft the saddle, just put your Rushoar into your party and summon it. You’ll now be able to use its “Hard Head” Partner Skill, which allows you to ride it.

Just hold the Partner Skill button and wait for Rushoar to approach you, then you’ll instantly hop on. Hold the button again whenever you want to Dismount.

Mining with Rushoar's charge

Mounting Rushoar will also let you use some of its unique abilities, with Reckless Charge being the most important. Press the Attack button and Rushoar will quickly charge right ahead!

Reckless Charge is absolutely amazing for breaking ore deposits quickly, and also for attacking hostile Pals.

Just be careful you don’t charge off a cliff! You can’t steer while charging, and you can’t stop the charge either once it starts. Sometimes you can dismount during the charge, but it seems to be very unreliable…

Direhowl, an example of another rideable Pal

Either way, you now have your very first riding Pal! It’s far from the only one in Palworld, though, as there are others such as Direhowls.

They all work more or less the same as Rushoar but have different abilities. Try capturing all the large four-legged Pals you see to get even more rideable creatures!
