No Rest for the Wicked just received the big “The Breach” update, so we have an early game Faith build for you if you’re looking for something fresh to start the game with.
Whether you’re a returning player or a complete newbie, this build guide will tell you everything you need to make the most out of Faith. It’ll result in a pretty defensive build, which also takes advantage of the Shield rework in the update. You’ll be tanky while also dishing out great damage!
If that sounds like a fun build, read on for all the details!
Early Game Faith Build Guide | No Rest For The Wicked: The Breach
First off, let’s talk about what to look for in gear. Due to the highly randomized nature of No Rest For The Wicked, it can be pretty hard to get specific loot. However, these are some decent guidelines on things to go for with a Faith build:
Weapon – Any one-handed weapon that has Faith scaling works.
Climber’s Pick is a great choice if you get it, as it has some solid abilities and low requirements (10 Strength and 10 Faith).
Cleric’s Mace is a good choice as a pure Faith weapon which only requires 10 Faith to wield. You don’t need to get lucky, either, as you can buy it from Filmore.
Malice is also a solid choice, as well. It requires 19 Faith, though, which is fairly steep early on. It also has a fairly basic moveset, sadly. On the upside, it’s easy to get as you can also purchase it from Filmore.
Shield – Your best bet early is the Kite Shield, as it’s a pure Faith shield. Otherwise, use any Medium or Light shield that allows you to stay at Normal weight.
Desirable Shield Enchantments – Damage Taken Decreased, Damage Increased After Block, Item Weight Decreased.
Armor – Similar to the Shield, you want to mainly just strike a balance with what you wear. Use whatever armor gives you the best Defense and Poise Defense but is also light enough to let you stay in Normal weight.
Rings –Feather Ring is the main one you want as it increases Equip Load. Other good rings are the Stone Tusk Ring (Armor Increased) and Jade Ring (Gain Stamina on Damage Dealt).
Attributes Priority
With gear covered, let’s now go over the aspect of this Faith build you have a lot more control over early in No Rest For the Wicked! Here’s how you should prioritize the stats, in order:
Stamina is the first stat you want to bump up a bit, as you’ll always need it. It’s required for dodging, blocking, and attacking.
Equip Load is going to be your second most important stat. As we mentioned before, you ideally want a Medium Shield with this build while also wearing decent armor. How much Equip Load you need will depend on the gear you end up getting and its enchantments. In general, raise Equip Load as you need to remain at Normal weight at the most.
Faith is going to be your next most important stat. You’ll want to level this up to at least 19 so you can use the Kite Shield as early as possible if you’re lucky enough to get one. Besides, you’ll need to level it up to boost your weapons’ damage and allow you to use higher-tier weapons later.
Health will depend on you. If you’re really good at avoiding damage, you can put off leveling it. However, it’s a good idea to invest an Attribute Point into it every now and then to prevent one-shot deaths.
Focus you can level up or ignore as you wish, depending on how much you use Rune powers.
Dexterity, Strength, and Intelligence can be pretty much ignored in this build.
So, there you have it, that’s the gist of what to look out for as you start a Faith build early in No Rest for the Wicked as of The Breach update. This build goes along pretty well with the rework Shields got, which made them a lot more useful than before!
