Ninja Gaiden 2 Black has been a pleasant surprise for long-time fans of the hack and slash franchise, and just like the original version of this title, there are a bunch of stuff that you can unlock to add a bit of variety to the gameplay. In this guide, we will be showing you how to get all of the weapons and Ninpo spells that are available in the game.

How to Get All Weapons & Ninpo Spells

Due to the game’s nature, you really do not have to get out of your way to find the vast majority of these as they are almost always required and are conveniently placed along your path. In fact, some of them are automatically given to you for free after reaching certain points of the story.

Let us go through a list of all the weapons first, which are the following:

  • Dragon Sword – This is given to you right at the start of the game.
  • Lunar Staff – At a certain point in the first level, a cutscene will play after you clear a group of enemies. In the room that opens, you can grab the Lunar Staff off the statue inside, and a save point can be found there too. You are forced to pick it up first before proceeding.
  • Falcon’s Talons – This can be found in the second chapter. After reaching the first save point, just enter the next building you can find and the Falcon’s Talons are on a pedestal at the very back. Again, you are railroaded into picking it up, and you will be ambushed afterwards.
  • Fiend’s Bane Bow – Also located in the second chapter, it can be found shortly after you jump into the hole on the roof. In the opposite end of the room from the save point, you will find it hanging from a dragon head’s mouth. You are required to pick it up before the story continues.
  • Vigoorian Flail – This is in the third chapter, in a chest found at the end of one alleyway. As with all the other entries so far, the game forces you to pick this up before you can continue.
  • Enma’s Fang – At some point after getting past the Godomus boss in chapter 4, you will find yourself in a room with a lot of display cases. The Enma’s Fang is a longsword that you will find near the end of this room, and you must pick it up before the game lets you proceed with the story.
  • Heavenly Dragon Naginata – This is the default melee weapon of Momiji, who you will play as in the fifth chapter.
  • Heavensong Bow – This is the default projectile weapon of Momiji in chapter 5.
  • Dragon’s Claw & Tiger’s Fang – These weapons are stuck to a corpse just beside a save point in the sixth chapter. Again, you are required to pick these up before the door up ahead will swing open.
  • Howling Cannon – In the sixth chapter, this is held by a corpse in a small room that is found along the way as you explore the wine cellars, just before the long stairway leading up. Upon grabbing it, the closed gate a few steps back should be open now.
  • Kusari-Gama – After fighting the Gogmagog in the seventh chapter, you must do a bit of parkouring to ascend to the upper levels of the cave. The way through is opened by the boss as it dies. This weapon is found on a corpse along the linear path.

  • Tonfa – This is found in the seventh chapter as well. After going through the castle’s large dining room and the connecting hallway that opens after it, you will find yourself in a room with a large painting. After clearing the enemies here, a chest containing the Tonfa will appear in front of the painting.
  • Eclipse Scythe – This is given to you as a reward for beating the boss of the seventh chapter.
  • Inferno Hammer – This is the default melee weapon of Rachel, who you play as in the eighth chapter.
  • Type 666 Heavy Machine Gun – This is the default projectile weapon of Rachel in chapter 8.
  • Fuma Kodachi – This is the default melee weapon of Ayane, who you play as in the eleventh chapter.
  • Flash Kunai – This is the default projectile weapon of Ayane in chapter 11.
  • True Dragon Sword – This is granted to you at the start of the 14th chapter. It replaces the default version of your starter weapon.
  • Blade of the Archfiend – This is given to you by Fiend Genshin in chapter 17 after you beat him. It is an upgrade of the Dragon’s Claw and Tiger Fang.

Ninpo Spells

Next, there are only a handful of Ninpo spells that you can find and use, and they are the following:

  • The Art of the Inferno – This is found in a chest within the very first level. After jumping down from where you can find a crystal skull, ascend the staircase and loot the chest in front of a shrine along the way.

  • The Art of the Flame Phoenix – After the second save point in the third chapter, you will find this in a chest along your path through the streets. Upon picking it up and equipping it, a cutscene will play, introducing new enemies to test it out on as well as opening the path forward.
  • The Art of the Wind Blades – In the fourth chapter, this is unlocked through a chest that is quite literally on your path through the subway tunnels.
  • The Art of the Crimson Lotus – This is the default Ninpo of Momiji, who you will play as inthe fifth chapter.
  • The Art of the Piercing Void – This is found in a chest in the floor above another save point in the sixth chapter, right after the watery area with gondolas. Just like the weapon from this chapter (Dragon’s Claw & Tiger’s Fang), the way to proceed with the story will only open after you loot this.
  • The Magic of Raging Aphrodite – This is the default Ninpo of Rachel, who you play as in the eighth chapter.
  • The Art of the Raging Mountain God Ayane uses this as her default Ninpo in the eleventh chapter.

And those are all of the weapons and Ninpo that you can unlock and use throughout the game across all the characters. While you are here, check out our guide on how to get all of the costumes as well for some optional goodies that you can use!
