New World Aeternum has just released the Winter Convergence Festival, which is a special holiday event that features all sorts of limited items, quests, and more! In this guide, we will go through all of the essentials so you can get started with all the new stuff that you can participate in and earn in this event!
Winter Convergence Festival Event Complete Guide
With the holidayseason now kicking off, you will notice that the environments have changed to look more like a snowy paradise, and lots of thematically appropriate decorations have been put up in each of the settlements.
While you are hanging out at a settlement, look for a giant Gift Pile, which you can interact with once a day for a bunch of free rewards. This will get you some food, presents, and gypsum. There are going to be other sources of presents to stumble into as you explore the game too!
The Yeti NPC
If you take a look at the map, you should see a few spots labeled as “Winter Convergence”. In these spots, you will find a Winter Wanderer NPC who will give you a chain of quests to do.
Start doing his quests in order to earn rewards for the event, and make sure to loot the Gift Sack beside him whenever you can! The tasks are fairly straightforward, so just do them at your leisure.
Eventually, you will be tasked with fighting The Winter Warrior. This is a world boss that spawns in various locations of the map, and you will likely have a lot of players helping you even without joining any party.
Just look for the icon with his face on it labeled “Forever Winter” and head over there if it is active. The fight itself has fairly simple mechanics, so just follow the inevitable zergs that form in these areas and make sure that you deal enough damage to the boss to earn rewards.
Potential Rewards
The Winter Wanderer is also the NPC you have to speak to in order to check the Winter Convergence Shop, which contains all of the different tiers of rewards that you can unlock and buy from.
To unlock the other tiers, you will need to earn event reputation. Just play the game normally and do all of the event-related activities in order to build this up over time. Farm the Winter Warrior whenever you can to speed up the process even more.
There are a lot of furniture and cosmetics that you can get from this event shop, as well as weapons that you will not really be buying for practical use but rather to unlock them as skins. There are also some valuable resources at the final tier.
It is up to you to decide which ones are worth getting, as a lot of this is really just a matter of personal preference. One tip is to avoid the food items that you initially unlock with the starting Reveler tier since you get them for free anyway.
And that wraps up all of the essential bits of information that you need to get started with the holiday event! Now get out there and start farming as soon as possible to get all of your desired rewards, or else you will have to wait until it comes back around next year!
