Monster Hunter Wilds just released an update containing some collaborative content with Street Fighter. Specifically, there is a special set of armor that you can get from Akuma, which will make you dress up like the old Street Fighter icon himself. Here is a quick guide detailing the steps that you need to follow in order to unlock it.

Monster Hunter Wilds – How to Unlock Akuma

In order to unlock Akuma in the game, all you have to do is complete the side quest known as Ultimate Strength. You need to be a certain hunter rank first before you can do it, so make sure you are nice and leveled before even thinking about doing this.

Find and talk to Quinn at Azuz to begin the quest. Your first objective is going to be to search the upper and middle stratum for monster remains. Most players state that they found theirs at area 5 and 11, so just head over there in any order you see fit.

We have a guide on how to find the monster carcasses that might help you with more detailed directions, though the game makes this very easy to do on your own anyway, especially with your palico giving hints along the way.

After that, you will now be tasked with searching the lower area. There, you are going to find Akuma himself. He will give you an arena challenge called Demonic Strength, in which you have to slay a tempered Ajarakan.

The twist here is that you will be playing as Akuma. There is a training area before you jump in, so you can practice his moves before you start the fight. You do not actually need to use his special moves, but you may as well check them out as it is pretty amusing.

Once you are done, just return to Akuma and he will give you the ability to keep retrying these special fights that can reward you with SF6 Tickets.

From here on out, you can now craft the Akuma gear, which includes the following items:

  • Demon Prayer Beads
  • Demon Garb
  • Demon Arm Wraps
  • Demon Belt
  • Demon Pants

In order to craft the full set, you just need to keep beating the arena challenge to farm for SF6 Tickets until you have enough to make it. That is pretty much all there is to it, so get out there and start farming it now!

It is just a fun little collab that might be a sign of future bonus content. It is not a full fledged fighting style, but it is a cool feature that can add a fresh new twist to your playstyle for the time being. The items are also seemingly customizable, so you can make some silly outfits for your hunter.
