Lords of the Fallen keeps getting great new content with its updates, such as a new quest that rewards us with a Gilded Bucket as a weapon! Yep, you read that right.
To make things even funnier, this Gilded Bucket is actually extremely tough to get. You’ll need to complete a rather cryptic and long-winded quest to even have a chance to pick the thing up!
If you’re ready to bludgeon abominations to death with a golden bucket, read on and we’ll tell you how to complete this very unique quest!
How to Get the Gilded Bucket | The Way of the Bucket Quest Guide
The first step to getting the coveted Gilded Bucket in Lords of the Fallen is to learn the Bucketlord’s Salute.
You can find this salute in the Sanctuary of Baptism via the Vestige of Chabui.
From the Vestige, go through the exit to your right.
Now, turn left and you should see a flight of stairs.
Go up the first set of stairs and turn left again.
Drop down and you should fall on top of a bunch of barrels, with one of them containing the Bucketlord’s Salute gesture.
Now go back to the Vestige of Chabui and turn around to face the same way as the Vestige is facing. You should spot a ladder there.
Go up the ladder and follow the hallway to the end, breaking every barrel in the way until you reach a cell with a guy inside.
Use your Umbral Lantern to phase through the cell door and approach the guy, who just so happens to have a bucket for a helmet.
Pick up the Condemned armor set and Broken Bucket weapon, too! Remove all of your currently equipped gear and equip these new items.
Now face the man with the bucket helmet and perform these three gestures: Greetings, Pointing Downward, and Bucketlord’s Salute.
You should see a message stating that the “pride of the Bucketlords has been reaffirmed”, which lets you know that the next part of the quest has been activated!
Item Hunting Time
Now that you’ve paid your respects to the bucket-man NPC, you can start obtaining “Pride of the Bucketlords” items. These will spawn in the arenas of sinners (non-remembrance bosses) after you beat them.
However, make absolutely sure that you do not pick up more than 4 at a time. Having more than 4 Prides of the Bucketlord at once will fail the quest and cause the bucket guy to aggro.
Nonetheless, these are the places where you will find the Prides:
Abiding Defenders in Manse of the Hallowed Brothers
Abbess Ursula in Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters
Carrion Knight in Tower of Penance
Crimson Rector Percival in Fitzroy’s Gorge
Gentle Gaverus, Mistress of Hounds in Pilgrim’s Perch
Griefbound Rowena in Fief of the Chill Curse
Infernal Enchantress in Lower Calrath
Kinrangr Guardian Folard in Fief of the Chill Curse
Ruiner at Fitzroy’s Gorge
Sacred Resonance of Tenacity in Pilgrim’s Perch
Scourged Sister Delyth in Pilgrim’s Perch
Skinstealer in Upper Calrath
If you have yet to kill these bosses, you’ll need to put them down before you can claim the Pride of the Bucketlord ftrom their arena.
Either way, go get 4 Prides of the Bucketlords, and then return to bucket guy NPC to turn them in. Rinse and repeat until none are left! Just make absolutely sure to never pick up more than 4 at once…
Turn in the final Pride of the Bucketlords to get a new cryptic message which just says, “seek gold amidst flames”.
Finding Gold Amidst the Flames
There’s only one place the cryptic message can be referring to: the gigantic bonfire near the Lower Calrath Alehouse! Fast travel there via the Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch.
Once you spawn in the alehouse, drop down to the lower floor.
Now, go through the hole in the wall to reach an adjacent room and drop down again.
Turn around to find yet another hole in the wall and go through it.
Next, run straight forward past the archway. You’ll need to destroy some barrels and crates that block your path, too.
You should now be witnessing the gigantic bonfire of Calrath! Go straight ahead and then turn left when you’re approaching the burning houses.
Take the stairs up and you’ll see a doorway right in front of you.
Invite yourself into the abandoned house and grab the Gilded Bucket from the floor.
Your quest is finally completed, and you now have the best weapon in the game!
