Gem Crafting is a very handy feature for your gear progression in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance.
This feature is part of one of the Life Skills you can take on. Its main purpose is to turn raw uncut gems into processed ones. Those processed gems can then be embedded into your equipment, providing various Attribute increases. In short, they empower you!
In this quick guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to get started with Gem Crafting.
How to Use Gem Crafting | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

To use the Gem Crafting feature, you’ll first need to learn the associated Life Skill. Start by selecting Life Skill from the main menu while in-game.

Then, click on Gemcrafting and confirm that you wish to unlock it. This will start a short tutorial quest. Finish it to have the Life Skill unlocked permanently for your character.

Once you’ve done that, make sure to also go into the Life Skill menu again and unlock the Gemstone Processing Mastery for Gemcrafting. This is mandatory to actually craft gems.

While you’re at it, we also recommend learning Gemology. As we’ve mentioned when talking about the most important Life Skills, Gemology and Gemcrafting go hand in hand. Gemology gets you the raw gems you need for Gemcrafting.

After you have all of that basic setup done, you just need to find Hamilton at the Artisan Guild in Asterleeds. Talk to him and select the Gemcrafting option to start crafting!

You can use this to process your raw uncut gems into different cut gems. These cut gems can then be slotted into gear to provide various Attribute increases.
However, it’s important to know which type of gem provides which benefit. This allows you to avoid learning Masteries related to gems you don’t need, for example. Here’s what every basic gem does:
- Ruby – Grants Crit.
- Sapphire – Grants Haste.
- Emerald – Grants Mastery.
- Diamond – Grants Luck.

Once you’ve prepared some gems, you’ll need to go to Maxim. You can also find him at the same Artisan Guild. Select Embed when talking to him.

Then, you just need to pick which gear you want to slot which gem into. It’s as simple as that, really!
Do note, however, that you can not recover a gem after it’s been embedded. There’s no way to take it back, only replace it with another gem. Disassembling the gear will delete any embedded gems entirely, as well.
Nonetheless, that’s all you need to know to be able to use Gem Crafting in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance! Make good use of it to strengthen your gear.
