Horses are one of the most valuable things you can get early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. After all, traveling on foot across Bohemia takes a lot of time.
The problem is that buying a horse can get expensive real quick. It’s for this reason that many players eventually resort to stealing horses.
However, not everyone is willing to just buy any horse you steal. You need to have the right connections to be able to sell them off, so to speak. This applies even if you simply want to turn the horse into your own.
Fortunately, as long as you know where to take the horses you stole, it can become a reliable source of income. Even better, it can become your permanent mount.
In this guide, we’ll tell you who to meet to either sell or acquire any horses you steal.
How To Sell Or Own Stolen Horses | Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Before anything else, you have to keep in mind that you can’t just ride a stolen horse into a stable and expect buyers to buy it. Guards and townsfolk can recognize stolen property, especially if someone witnessed you during a theft.
Instead, you have to look for a horse fence.
First things first, you want to head to the Nomads’ Camp in the Trosky region. This camp is on the western side of the map. It’s west of both Zhelejov and Semine. Do note that you want to go there at least once before you steal a horse.
This will unlock it as a fast travel destination, which makes the process a lot easier!
Now, when you finally steal a horse you want to sell or own, you just need to go to the Nomads’ Camp. Ideally, try to make sure that you get there during the day. The NPC you need to talk with won’t be available at night or early morning.
Also, I recommend using the fast travel feature as it will prevent NPCs from noticing that you stole the horse!
Do not use the Wait feature while you have a stolen horse with you, though! It will run away and disappear.
Meet Mikolai, the Horse Handler

Once you reach the camp atop the stolen horse, look for Horse Handler Mikolai, the man with a green hat.

Talk to him and then select the “(Horse black market)” option.
Now, you can choose to either “Sell” the stolen horse or “Acquire” it and make it your own. Keep in mind that you can only have one horse at a time, so selecting Acquire will have you sell your current horse to Mikolai.
It will then be replaced by the stolen horse you acquired.

If you choose to Acquire, your previous horse’s inventory will be transferred to the new one. However, any equipment your owned horse is wearing will be sold along with it. If you want to keep your currently owned horse’s equipment, take it off before acquiring the stolen one.
Lastly, note that you can only Sell or Acquire a stolen horse once every 24 in-game hours. Keep that in mind if you plan to commit some more grand theft horse crimes!
When’s the Best Time to Steal Horses?
If you want to make this a source of income, you need to know when the best time is to start stealing horses.
In my experience, nighttime is usually the safest. After all, most stable areas have fewer NPCs wandering around after dark. This lowers the risk of being reported. Horse traders also tend to keep valuable horses in open paddocks that are easier to access quietly at night.
If guards or witnesses spot you mounting the horse, the theft becomes much riskier. Even if you escape, nearby settlements may react aggressively when they recognize the stolen mount.
Fast traveling with a stolen horse does work, though many players use it carefully to avoid running into patrols on the road.
