Just like the first game, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 features a fast travel system that can save you a lot of time if you do not mind breaking immersion for a bit. Have you ever wondered if you can somehow speed up this process and reach your destination earlier? Well, this guide will try to answer that question for you.

Does Fast Traveling on a Horse Make You Go Faster?

Just to give you a quick answer: Yes, mounting a horse does seem to make you move through the map faster than if you were on foot whenever you initiated fast travel. However, some people have noted that there is a bit of inconsistency here.

Ideally, being on a horse while fast traveling should get you to your destination around an hour or two faster than normal. A few players have tested this and gotten seemingly random results, which might imply that a horse’s stats might play a factor in this.

Some have mentioned that galloping right before you start fast traveling could have an effect, though this could just be placebo. Henry’s equipped armor weight is also said to be another factor, so changing to a lighter set might speed it up even more.

There is no clear indication of this mechanic in the game itself, and it should be noted that you do not gain horsemanship EXP through the fast travel system. Because of this, you might want to consider going around manually anyway, especially if you are trying to unlock certain perks.

With that tip in mind, make sure to check out our guide on the ten best horses with good stats as well. Some of these specialize in pure mobility, which can allow you to travel through the map in lightning quick speeds. Just keep in mind that free mounts like Pebbles and Herring start off slow but can be significantly improved through manual training!
