118 articlesIf you just reached Act 4 in Path of Exile 2, you’ll need to complete the “Hostile Takeover” quest to get the new Shoreline Hideout. You’ll first need to meet up with a merchant called Ange. She’ll guide you to a secluded spot that would work well as a hideout! Problem is, there are a lot of hostile critters camping out there. Fret not, we’ll help you clear them out so you can claim the hideout for yourself.
Unlock Shoreline Hideout – Hostile Takeover Quest Guide | Path of Exile 2
Your first step for this quest is to meet Ange at Kingsmarch in Act 4, as we mentioned previously. She’s by the town’s harbor, making her pretty hard to miss as you enter the town for the first time.
As Ange said, you’ll need to go to Whakapanu Island next, which is one of Act 4’s locations. You’ll need to progress the main campaign until you unlock it.
Once you’re on Whakapanu Island, you’ll need to look for the Chamber of Echoes in the Singing Caverns. As usual with POE2, the map is procedurally generated, so its location isn’t always the same. To spot it, look for a thin hallway leading to a donut-shaped arena. There will also be petrified people along the hallway, which your character will note.

Next up, return to Ange at Kingsmarch. She’ll thank you for clearing out the “problems” on the island, then offer to take you to a secluded location. Take her up on her offer by selecting “Travel to Shoreline Hideout.”
You will now be at the Shoreline Hideout itself, but there’s a little problem. There are a bunch of aggressive critters all along the shore! Kill them quickly to clear them out. They’re all trash mobs, truthfully, so this is basically a formality at this point. Just explore the small shoreline area and kill all the mobs you see.
Once you’re done, return to Ange and talk with her one last time. You can now use “Select Hideout” to designate the Shoreline Hideout as your active one, should you wish to do so! Doing so will also finish the Hostile Takeover quest, as well. That’s all you need to unlock the Shoreline Hideout in Path of Exile 2!
