Getting a high Ability Score is one of the ways you can progress your character in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance.

Ability Score in this game is pretty similar to gear score in other MMORPGs and ARPGs. That means that it’s largely defined by the quality and strength of your equipment. The better the gear, the higher the score! Your character’s Skills do also play a part, of course, but gear is king.

In this quick guide, we’ll tell you various easy ways to increase your Ability Score.

How to Get High Ability Score | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

Gear Exchange | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

The best way to get a high Ability Score in this game is to simply equip better gear. Having a full set of Epic (Purple) or Legendary (Orange) gear is the best way to boost your Ability Score.

Artisan Guild location | Blue Protocol Star Resonance

If you’re still fairly early on, a good way to get Epic gear is to talk to Harvey. He runs the Gear Exchange at the Artisan Guild in Asterleeds.

By talking to him, you can use the Gear Exchange to trade Alloy Shards for Epic-tier gear. Alloy Shards are fairly plentiful, so this should be a good way to get a quick boost!

Do note that the items in the shop reset every week. Additionally, Harvey will allow you to purchase higher-level items as you level up.

Maxim | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

While you’re at the Artisan Guild, you can also talk to Maxim. He’s the Gear Enhance Artisan right next to Harvey! Maxim will allow you to both Reforge and Refine your gear.

Reforge unlocks earliest and works directly on your gear. You can spend Reforge Stones to increase the Attributes on your equipment, which also boosts your Ability Score.

Refine unlocks a bit later, at Level 30. This option allows you to spend materials to improve your equipment slots to increase your Attributes. These upgrades are permanent for your character, not your equipment itself!

Using both of these features will be crucial to increasing your Ability Score. If you want to know about them in a lot more detail, check out our gear progression guide.

Farming Legendary Gear

With what we said before in mind, the best way improve your Ability Score is to simply grind for more gear! Legendary gear should be your goal if you wish to boost your Ability Score quickly.

For farming gear, we recommend doing the Chaotic Realm dungeons over at the Unit X Research Facility in Asterleeds.

Example of a Chaotic Realm | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

These dungeons have by far the best chances of giving you Legendary gear in particular. This is especially true once you tackle the higher difficulties of the dungeons! Mind you, the chances of Legendary gear are still low, but this is your best bet.

Monster Hunt | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

Alternatively, you can opt to just use the Monster Hunt feature to kill World Bosses. All bosses drop gear, with most of them having a chance to drop Legendary gear.

Monster Hunt | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

However, Monster Hunt is generally not as good as Chaotic Realms. Legendary gear is extremely rare from bosses, so we can’t recommend it as your primary source! Still, it’s worth a shot, if only to have a change of pace while grinding…

With all of that said, it’s also worth noting that gear alone isn’t the only source of Ability Score. Upgrading your Skills, even including Life Skills, can also contribute to your Ability Score. Though, as we’ve mentioned previously, getting Legendary gear is still the best way to get a significantly high Ability Score!

Also, as a last note: Ability Score does not directly equal a stronger player. It’s possible to boost Ability Score by using rare gear that has terrible Attributes for you, for example, or by leveling Skills you don’t actually use.

While it is important to increase Ability Score to unlock content, do not make it your sole focus if you wish to actually do well. Instead, prioritize gear that has the Attributes your class needs and Skills that you actually use, even if they provide less Ability Score!

Nonetheless, that’s all you need to know to get a high Ability Score in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance! At the end of the day, all you need to do is keep getting better gear, either through farming or upgrading.
