Production buildings are some of the most important buildings in the game. These buildings are responsible for – you guessed it, the production of important resources like logs, charcoal, and water.
Steamworld Build: How to Build Cactus Farm
The Cactus Farm generates the resource of Cactus Water. To keep your workers happy and efficient, you need Cactus Water as a crucial resource. Moreover, distilling Cactus Water into Moonshine also ensures the happiness of your Engineers.
First, keep in mind that you need to reach a certain Milestone to be able to construct the Cactus Farm. Here’s how to do it:
Under the Workers category, you should be able to find the Cactus Farm build option.
Place a Cactus Farm down where you see fit. Its orientation won’t matter and is largely for aesthetics.
Click on the Cactus Farm you just put down and click “place fields”.
An efficient Cactus Farm will require you to put down threefields. Put them down, so they won’t be a bother to any other nearby structures.
NOTE: At least one of the fields needs to be touching the building, and all the fields need to be connected in some way.
Cactus Water is consumed at a rate of 0.1 per cycle per building so this is one Cactus Water for every ten Worker Residentials.
Given that each Cactus Farm will generate four Cactus Water per cycle, one Cactus Farm can support at least 40 Worker Residential Buildings at a time. Notwithstanding the possibility that some Cactus Water will be used to produce Moonshine.
At the end of the day, constructing a Cactus Farm will be one of the first things you’ll need to do in Steamworld Build. We hope this guide can be of some help as you create your ultimate city amidst the dystopia. Happy building!
