More is less, but that will always be up for debate while you’re in the middle of a game, especially if we’re talking about User Interface. Some people prefer to appreciate the 3D world around them and have as little to no obstructions in sight while some others pretend to be Hackerman and would want nothing more than to see endless streams of numbers floating everywhere on their screen. Luckily for you we’re the former so we’ll be giving you a hand on how to have a Clean and Minimalistic User Interface. Don’t worry, we’re not going to hide everything!
Clean & Minimalistic UI Guide – FFXIV Online
Once you get a good understanding of the Heads Up Display you’ll come to terms with the fact that you don’t always need to see everything happening at the same time. Especially if you’re in the middle of an encounter! So just remember what elements in the UI do you need and where you need them.
To begin, navigate to your main menu and click on System to get to your HUD Layout. Here you’ll have a perfect overview of all the elements that are both present and missing on your screen.
You can freely move everything around here, you can also go to the UI Elements by clicking on the gear icon on the HUD Layout menu to increase/decrease the size of any element of your choice.
Now that you have aligned every hotbar the way you want it to appear on your screen. You can also move the Enemy List to the same spot as your hotbar. This is to help you when you’re playing a job you aren’t familiar with so you can keep an eye on your targets while knowing what’s active or cooling down at the moment.
And that’s about it! You can now freely explore without having to see everything happen at once for a change. By the way, if you want to take screenshots as well you can press the Scroll Lock key on your numpad.
Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
