Enshrouded, as is typical with most open-world survival games, has a character creation and customization system.
It’s not the most in-depth character customization system, but it does have enough options to create unique characters!
In this guide, we look over what options the character customization in Enshrouded has and what they do.
Character Customization Guide
Character creation and customization in Enshrouded are purely cosmetic. There are no traits or any RPG elements or anything of the sort for you to deal with in here!
You just have to choose what you like the most, based on aesthetics.
The thing is, though, the character creation system is actually extremely limited currently, sadly.
One of the biggest limitations is the fact that you can’t edit your characters at all after you’ve created them. It’s likely that they will add the ability to edit your character later on if they add more customization options, but it isn’t in the game yet.
The second big limitation is that the Preset you use actually defines most of your character. Presets in Enshrouded govern your character’s body type, face, build, and skin color.
None of these options can be changed separately, so make sure you pick the Preset you like the most!
Now, these are the options that can be actually customized separately after choosing a Preset:
Hair – The character’s hair, of course. There are about a dozen types and they’re non-gendered, so all body types can use them.
Hair Color – The color of the character’s hair, only 8 colors are currently available and they’re almost exclusively warm colors such as orange. Black and blonde hair are also options.
Beard – The character’s beard. Non-gendered, just like hair.
Beard Color – The color of the character’s beard. Same selection as the hair color.
Voice – Characters in this game don’t talk, so the voice is mostly for grunts and the like. There are 5 female voices and 5 male voices.
Name – The character’s name, which is whatever you want!
So, there you have it, that’s all there is to know about character customization in Enshrouded. Somewhat disappointing due to how limited it is, sadly…
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
