Legacy dungeons in Elden Ring include some awesome weapons you can get your hands on, but some, like the Scarlet Rotten Staff, can be quite difficult to get.
The Rotten Crystal Staff is a very powerful weapon you get in the Elden Ring’s endgame. It requires 8 Strength and 48 Intelligence to use, scales with both of these stats, buffs Crystalian Sorceries and has a chance to inflict Rot status on the enemies. But it’s also pretty difficult to get…
How to Get Scarlet Rotten Staff in the Elden Ring
The Scarlet Rotten Staff can be found in a Legacy Dungeon called Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree in the northern portion of the map. You can only get there after defeating Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree in Miquella’s Haligtree. You should be at least level 110 before entering this dungeon, so don’t bother with the staff until the endgame.
Crystallian Mages
Scarlet Rotten Staff drops from enemies called the Crystallian Mages. There are two places where those enemies spawn – at the beginning of Elphael’s first section and next to the Elphael Inner Wall Site of Grace. The enemies themself are very tough and they don’t always drop the staff, so prepare for a long farming section.
The Crystal Staff
Interestingly, there exists another version of this weapon, simply called the Crystal Staff. The only difference between the two is that the Crystal Staff cannot inflict the Rot status effect and is much easier to get.
It can be found in the academy crystal cave, in a room guarded by a sorcerer behind a fog wall, located right before the boss gate. You’ll have to get past an illusionary rock on the left site of the tunnel to get to it.
