The knight statue with the Ruby has a red barrier preventing you from reaching it. This coincides with the 3 spectral dog statues by the knight… so, you just have to find wherever the source of these projections is and break them! Fairly simple, right?

How to Solve the 3 Dog Statues Ruby Puzzle in Chapter 6: The Siege Part 1
For reference, you can find the dog statues puzzle in the spot marked on the map above. Once you get there, you will find a knightly statue holding a Ruby. However, you can’t grab it until you clear the red barrier around the statue. To do that, you will need to find 3 dog statues in the nearby area.

Now, for the first dog statue, go behind the statue and drop down to the section below.
You will see the dog statue to your left once you drop. Throw your shield at the lit brazier under the statue to break it, then move on.
While facing the first statue, turn to your left and look for a broken tree on top of some rocks.
Go under that broken tree to find the second statue hidden between the rocks there. Like before, throw your shield at the statue’s brazier.
For the final statue, turn around after breaking the second statue and turn to your left again. Go back toward the spot where the puzzle started. You will find the final statue atop a small cliff, directly opposite of where the knight statue with the Ruby is. As before, throw your shield at it!
Now, just return to the knight statue to find the red barrier has disappeared. Approach the Ruby in its hand and pick it up, that’s your reward! So, that’s all you need to do to complete the dog statues puzzle during Chapter 6: The Siege Part 1 in DOOM: The Dark Ages.
