However, just finding this secret boss is not enough. So many players have struggled against this boss in an attempt to get the Shadow Crystal that you can obtain as one of the rewards. Get Secret Shadow Crystal From Beating Green Old Man BOSS

Starting off, you will need to actually unlock the secret boss fight. You can do this by obtaining the three hidden Golden Piano note sequences.

These can be found spread all over the Dark Sanctuary. You can collect them in any order too, but you’ll need the Climbing Gear.

Here’s the location for all of the three note sequence locations:

• Inside the room with the “Jockington Grows the Beard” message.
• Inside the Dark Sanctuary’s lower right section, directly to the right of the Old Man’s Library.
• Behind the waterfall by the starting point for the area. You’ll need to donate to open the path behind the waterfall.

Just return to the Golden Piano after finding the note sequences and the full note sequence will be displayed. At the end, the fireplace will open up in the Dark Sanctuary’s Study.

Just enter inside and this will start the boss fight!

Boss Fight Strategy

After you enter inside and interact with the Magic Axe, the old man will appear and challenge you to a fight. This boss fight is incredibly challenging, even for the most experienced of players.

Starting off, what you need to keep in mind is that this is an endurance fight. This means that you will need to survive till the end of the fight, instead of damage the boss.

However, this is easier said than done, as the mini games where you need to dodge different projectiles and attacks will keep getting harder as the fight progresses. The boss also does insane damage which can make players panic.

Blocking projectiles will help you build up TP, although quite slowly.

Also, keep in mind that you cannot use any items during the fight. You’ll only have to rely on your skill and the Magic Axe.

However, you can bring Armor with you as it will help protect you – especially the one with the highest Defence. You can also bring along the Lifesteal Axe to make surviving easier.

So, there are two strategies that you can utilize depending on how confident you are:

• Focus only on healing
• Use the Rude Buster to generate more TP.

The strategy you choose will depend on how confident you are in your abilities to use the Rude Buster successfully. This is because the Rude Buster requires you to parry at the right time.

If you’re struggling with the timing, we recommend that you parry when the Axe is in the middle of the screen. Practice the timing this way and you’ll have a far easier time with him.

In this way, you can generate more TP, which means you’ll be able to do more healing. The more you heal, the greater your chances of survival. This boss will even give you hints that you should heal more.

But again, if you do not like using the Rude Buster, you can just survive using your Heals. Blocking the projectiles will still be able to give you a decent amount of TP.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you take less damage when you have less HP. At the start of the fight, you’ll take a ton of damage. But as your HP goes lower, you’ll start to take less damage, going as less as 5 HP.

So, some players have suggested to only keep your HP under 100, so that you can take as less damage as possible. You can then only use Healing when you reach 40 HP as this is dangerous.

We recommend that you utilize Heals as much as you can. This is because every time you heal, you actually get 2 more HP, while the TP cost also goes down with each use to a minimum of 80%.

As a result, you have a variety of strategies that you can use. Go for whichever one you are comfortable with.
