How to Get the Secret Boss and Justice Axe | Minimal Spoilers Guide
To get the Justice Axe and reach the secret boss this time around you just need to find three hidden Golden Piano note sequences. These can be found spread all over the Dark Sanctuary. You can collect them in any order too, but you’ll need the Climbing Gear. You’ll also find the Golden Piano naturally through the story, which you’ll need to come back to later. So, progress the story until you get that first.
As you might’ve surmised, these notes will be required to play the Golden Piano properly. Doing that is what will allow you to reach the Justice Axe. Here’s the location for all of the three note sequence locations:
- Inside the room with the “Jockington Grows the Beard” message.
- Inside the Dark Sanctuary’s lower right section, directly to the right of the Old Man’s Library.
- Behind the waterfall by the starting point for the area. You’ll need to donate to open the path behind the waterfall.
Once you’re in one of these areas, you just need to illuminate it. You should see golden arrows and dots appear in the room, which corresponds to the inputs you do for the Golden Piano. Don’t worry, you don’t need to take note of them yourself! Just interact with them to collect them.

Just return to the Golden Piano after finding the note sequences and the full note sequence will be displayed. Input all the keys from left to right and you’re all done here! The fireplace will open up in the Dark Sanctuary’s Study. Defeat the secret boss within and you’ll earn the Justice Axe in Deltarune Chapter 4, and all that with minimal spoilers from us!
