You’ll need to escort a purple orb as part of the main easter egg in The Tomb in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (BO6) Zombies, which is no easy feat solo.
Zombies spawn continuously as you try to follow the purple orb all over the Dark Aether Nexus. Since the orb goes through some pretty narrow spots, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. However, there’s a pretty easy solution to make this manageable even if you’re playing solo!
In this guide, we’ll give you tips and tricks to escort the purple orb with ease as a solo player.
Purple Orb Easter Egg Step – Solo Guide | BO6 Zombies: The Tomb
During the process of obtaining Ull’s Arrow, you will need to reopen a portal. After you do so, you’ll end up back on an elevated part of the Dark Aether Nexus with a purple orb in front of you. Interact with the orb and it will start to move, doing a lap around the Nexus.
When this happens, you have to follow the orb while keeping in mind that hordes of enemies will spawn. Failing to stick close to the orb will fail this step of the easter egg, requiring you to redo the entire portal opening step again to try again. You need to stick close to it until it eventually reaches its goal in the center of the Nexus.
How to Escort the Purple Orb as a Solo Player
The easiest way to do this when solo is to craft and bring a Mutant Injection with you. Use it when the purple orb takes you through the narrow sections of the Dark Aether Nexus. This will make you basically invulnerable while the mutation lasts, making it pretty easy. On top of that, you can fire your Shockwave Cannon directly at the ground to clear groups of zombies that are close to you!
By the time your Mutant Injection runs out, the purple orb should be approaching its final destination at the center of the Dark Aether Nexus. More importantly, you will be in a much more open area. Use this open space to your advantage to run circles around the zombies while killing them. It’s much easier to avoid being overwhelmed out in the open than in the narrow sections earlier.
Once the purple orb enters the central structure in the Dark Aether Nexus, you’re done! A bright white light will flash on your screen, killing any remaining zombies. What’s more, you can approach the portal left by the purple orb to grab Ull’s Arrow!
