Blue Prince: How to Set Up Telescope in Observatory

The Observatory in Blue Prince can be used to set up a telescope for many rewards.

You can use the telescope to look at the sky, as you might imagine. Spotting certain constellations while doing this will unlock permanent upgrades, too. That and some other secrets make the telescope extremely useful!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to properly position and set the telescope in the Observatory.

How to Set Up Telescope in Observatory | Blue Prince

You’ll need to use two different valves to set up the telescope. The first one is at the base of the telescope itself, as shown above. This valve controls the telescope’s horizontal position.

For the second valve, you need to go up the spiral stairs in the Observatory.

Go up the stairs and follow walkway to the end to reach the valve there. This valve controls the telescope’s vertical position.

Now, the main use of the telescope is to look at the stars. To do that, use both valves and position the telescope so that it’s looking straight out of the opening in the Observatory’s roof.

Then, approach the telescope’s eyepiece and interact with it. You’ll look at the sky and be able to spot a Constellation, which counts as a sort of permanent “item”. Different Constellations have different effects, but they’re all permanent and carry through runs. More constellations will appear as you collect Stars, which you get by entering the Observatory.

Alternatively, you can also use the valves to position the telescope’s optical tube so that it’s adjacent to the upper walkway. This will allow you to reach a secret hatch, as shown above. Open the hatch and you’ll be able to collect the “Planetarium” Secret Floorplan!

Drafting and “calling it a day” in the Planetarium during a run will give you +2 Stars. This allows you to unlock Constellations much faster than by just drafting and entering Observatories, so it’s well worth it.
