The Shelter in Blue Prince has a unique storage safe that only opens when you meet certain time conditions.
To open this one, you’ll basically just need to set a date for it to automatically open. While that’s easy on paper, that also means you need to figure out your current time and date in the game. Even something as basic as that is a bit of a puzzle in Blue Prince, though!
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to bust the time-locked safe open in the Shelter.
How to Open Time Storage Safe in the Shelter | Blue Prince
There are two things you’ll first need to make note of to open the safe. The first is your current day, which is noted as “Day X” in your pause menu. Just note that the game always starts on November 7. That means that, for example, if you’re on Day 11 the date will be November 18.
The second thing is the current time, which you can check at any in-game clock. The easiest and most reliable is the manor’s clock tower.
Once you’ve made a note of the current day and time, go to the Shelter and interact with the PC there. Select Time-Lock Safe and Set Unlock Date.
Now, you just need to set the date to your current day and the time to one hour in advance. For example, let’s say it’s currently November 18 at 1:00 PM in the game. That means you should set the time-lock on the PC to November 18 at 2:00 PM.
The only thing left to do now is to wait for the time you set on the PC. Each in-game hour is 5 minutes in real time, so you don’t need to wait too long if you only set the lock one hour in advance. To save steps, it’s a good idea to just wait in front of the safe.
Once the time is up, the safe will magically open right in front of your eyes! Within it is one Gem and Red Letter VII. Make sure to keep the letter’s contents in mind as you might need it for other puzzles in this run.
