19 articlesTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a recently released roleplaying and adventure game based on Arthurian legends, and it has a lot of secrets and hidden gear for you to discover around its beautifully handcrafted world. If you would like to skip some of that exploration and just get the good stuff immediately, here are some recommendations that you can try out for yourself when you first start the game!
Best Starting Armor & Weapon in Tainted Grail – Fall of Avalon
We do not want to rob you too much of the exploration aspect of the game, so most of this is going to be general recommendations and just what to look out for, as well as the general area to search for them.
With all of that in mind, let us get to a list of recommended starting armor and weapons that you can get early on:
- Silent Weaver Wand – There is a wand that you can dig up close to where you start the game. Near a few copper nodes, you will find a spot that you can dig to reveal a chest, which contains the Silent Weaver. It is a low level wand that reduces your mana cost by 15%, making it a decent starter item for mages.
- The Lightning Hammer – This is found in the Forgotten Cemetery Crypt dungeon, which is also related to a quest that you can do early on. If you explore a bit, you will find a small opening past some rocks that you can enter, and you will find this two-handed hammer on the ground in front of a shrine made of skulls and bones.
- Firm Bow – The firm bow is just a basic ranged weapon that can act as a good starter item. It can be found in the beach to the very southwest of the Horns of the South region. You will need to dive underwater and open a chest within a slightly submerged ruin.
- Feral Charm – There is a circular area to the east of the Horns of the South if you check the map. There, you will find an ogre that you have to defeat. Afterwards, the Feral Charm can be found on a body on top of one of the hanging wooden platforms here. There are various other magical items to be found all around this spot too.
- Worn Druidic Set – This is a low level armor set that you can find in a wooden hut at the southern part of the map, just on the beach guarded by some redcaps. It will increase your passive mana regeneration by a bit, and you can wear it as long as you have 3 spirituality. Decent starting set for low level mages.
- Blood Transfusion Spell – This can be found very early in the game, near an altar of the Red Priest at the start of your playthrough. You will need to do a bit of exploring to find a way into the room it is in, but it should not be too difficult.
And those are just some of the many items you can discover in the game, even at the start. Just make sure to check every nook and cranny, even in the prologue, because if we listed down every single item you can find at the start, you will be reading an entire dissertation’s worth of text.
