As you progress in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, you’ll be able to unlock a second Class for your character… but it can be hard to pick what’s best!

There are a lot of variables to consider here. After all, there are 8 Classes with 2 specs each! You need to think about which ones work together, as well, because having two Classes on a single character spreads your resources thin. It’s a lot to take in…

Fret not, though! In this guide, we’ll tell you how this unlock works and help you decide which Class to pick.

How Second Classes Work

Hero's Radiance | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

You can get a second Class for a character as soon as you get at least 1 Hero’s Radiance. This rare material can be bought from the in-game shop for 680 Bound Rose Orbs.

Additionally, you can get one for free by completing the “New Class” quest. This quest unlocks once you reach Adventurer Level 21 with a character.

When you do have the Hero’s Radiance, you can start the process by just clicking on your character’s current Class in your profile. Then, just select the Class you wish to learn next to start a short tutorial quest. That’s the gist of it!

However, we do recommend thinking about whether this process is worth it for you at all, first.

Class Unlock Quests | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

For one, the Hero’s Radiance is a fairly rare and expensive item. It’s generally not worth the Bound Rose Orbs it costs. Buying it can handicap your progression, due to how limited Bound Rose Orbs are.

Additionally, second Classes are generally seen as suboptimal and hard to maintain. That is because you’ll need to get new gear and materials to make it worthwhile. This is especially hard due to the scarcity of some key materials, such as Skill Advance Books.

So, ultimately, most players recommend thinking this through. Some players even recommend just creating a different character altogether, as this makes managing gear and materials easier overall.

Now, with that disclaimer out of the way, there are still some viable choices for a second Class. Let’s take a look at them!

The Best Second Class

Verdant Oracle | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

Overall speaking, the best second Class to pick is Verdant Oracle with the Lifebind spec.

What makes this a solid overall choice is that it’s not extremely gear-reliant. It’s also one of the strongest Classes and specs in the whole game, as we’ve mentioned in our endgame Class tier list!

Even better, this specific Class and spec also allow you to farm much more easily than any other Class.

You can be in an area where other players are farming and start using healing skills, for example! This will heal everyone around you, which counts as contributing towards kills. It’s an easy way to get drops, plus it helps the other players.

In short, Verdant Oracle with the Lifebind spec is just overall never a bad choice. So, it makes for a pretty solid second Class, no matter what your main Class is!

Other Options

Various player characters converge | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

So, do you not care for Verdant Oracle (Lifebind) as your second Class? Are you already playing that class as your main? Or do you just want to know what else could work?

Well, another good way to decide your second Class is to think about the Attributes each Class and spec uses. Trying to pick two Classes that have matching Attributes works pretty well, as your gear will work for both Classes!

To make things a lot easier for you, here’s a quick list of some Class pairs that share most of the same Basic and Advanced Attributes:

  • Frost Mage (Icicle) + Frost Mage (Frostbeam)
  • Frost Mage (Icicle) + Beat Performer (Concerto)
  • Verdant Oracle (Lifebind) + Frost Mage (Frostbeam)
  • Verdant Oracle (Lifebind) + Beat Performer (Dissonance)
  • Wind Knight (Vanguard) + Shield Knight (Recovery)

While these are only some examples of pairs with overlapping stats, these are some of the strongest and most useful ones.

Also, before anyone asks: yes, we do mean it with the Frost Mage double spec! It’s a pretty common setup for endgame Frost Mage players, as it gives them more versatility while still focusing purely on DPS.

So, there you have it! We hope this helps you choose the best second class to unlock for you in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. If not, well, focusing on a single Class is still optimal for a long time.
