NARUTO X BORUTO UNSC: Is There Crossplay? | Everything You Need To Know

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections (or UNSC for short) will feature online multiplayer, but there’s no official word about crossplay compatibility.

The game allows you to pick your favorite characters from the popular manga and anime series to battle others online, so it would be excellent if it supported cross-platform matchmaking!

In this article, we’ll find out whether or not the latest Naruto arena fighter has crossplay support or not.

Does Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections Have Crossplay?

Bandai Namco seems to be rather hush-hush about the game’s online features, with very little information about online battles on the official website.

However, with the game already in the fans’ hands, we can confirm that there is no crossplay between different platforms.

That means that Xbox users can’t play with Playstation users, for example. There is no crossplay on PC or Switch versions of the game either, so you can only play with others who are on the same platform.

It’s not all terrible, though, as the game does at least support Cross-Gen for online. The Xbox Store even lists it under the game’s features, as you can see on the screenshot above.

As such, players on current-gen Xbox and Playstation platforms can match up and play with those on older-generation consoles.

For example, Playstation 5 players can play together with PlayStation 4 users. It’s no cross-platform online, that’s for sure, but it’s something at least.

Sadly, this does have a huge downside for those on the newest consoles! The game will be locked to 30 frames per second whenever you play with someone on an older system.

If that bothers you enough, you can disable Cross-Gen matchmaking to play only with other ninjas that are on current-gen consoles.

It’s obviously quite disappointing that there’s no proper crossplay in this game, but not really all that surprising.

We can keep dreaming about a future where every multiplayer game has crossplay, but it seems the platform holders won’t cooperate for the sake of the average gamer…
