For some odd reason, some players can’t get past the main menu in Persona 5 Tactica, or they find that the game keeps pressing down despite no button being pressed.
This issue seems to be mostly caused by the game not having proper focus, or by using certain faulty drivers!
In this article, we’ll help you fix these annoying issues so that you can enjoy the Phantom Thieves’ tactical RPG debut!
How to Fix Can’t Get Past Menu & Game Keeps Pressing Down Issues
For most users, the unresponsive control issue in Persona 5 Tactica is caused by having vJoy installed.
This virtual joystick software seems to interact weirdly with the game, which prevents regular other input methods from working properly. The only real solution in this case is to simply uninstall vJoy!
To do so, open up Windows’ Start menu and click look for the vJoy shortcut folder in the program list.
Inside this folder, click on the Uninstall vJoy shortcut.
Windows will ask if you’re sure you want to uninstall the software, press Yes to continue.
Wait a little bit and vJoy will be uninstalled, at which point you should restart your computer.
With vJoy gone, you should just launch Persona 5 Tactica again and see if that fixed the input issues you were having!
If you don’t use vJoy or uninstalling vJoy didn’t fix the issue, there’s one other workaround: Alt + Tab!
Yup, all you have to do is press Alt + Tab to switch to any other program you have running. Then, press Alt + Tab again and get back to Persona 5 Tactica.
This should make your PC focuses on the game, ensuring that your inputs are registered by the game and not another application.
Alternatively, you can try unplugging your input method (be it a keyboard and mouse or a controller) and plugging it back in. It’s far from ideal, but it should help Persona 5 Tactica detect your input devices!
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
