It’s no secret that Fortnite is filled with tons of cool weapons to choose from. However, not all of these weapons are viable. Some are insanely strong, others are pretty mediocre, and the rest aren’t even worth using at all.
One of the more solid options in the game as far as weapons go is the Ranger Assault Rifle. Basically, this one replaces the standard rifle offerings in Fortnite. It’s capable of hitting targets from medium to long range, and it has a slower fire rate than you would expect from an assault rifle.
If you want to know more about this weapon and how to use it effectively, then this guide is for you.
Ranger Weapon Guide in Fortnite
The Ranger Assault Rifle is a fully automatic rifle that fires slow but accurate shots. It has high base damage ranging from 31 to 37 per shot. Meanwhile, it has a 1.5x headshot multiplier, making it a solid choice when aiming for headshots.
While the Ranger can fire at medium to long range, it does suffer from damage falloff at 50 meters. Meanwhile, it will suffer a 95% damage falloff at 75 meters. Nonetheless, it’s still a solid choice for medium to long range fights.
It doesn’t bode well at close range fights though, in which case you’re better off using an SMG.
To make the most out of the Ranger during longer ranges, make sure to tap fire it to control its spread. You can even further increase your accuracy by crouching while firing.
