Path of Exile 2 has all kinds of tough bosses and confusing locations, and even though it is still in a very early access state, there are tons of content to sink your teeth into. There are many things that break in the game, and the “Search the Traitor’s Passage” step is one that seems to be broken for many right now. In this guide, we will be showing you how to get to this location and why your quest might not be updating!

How to Search the Traitor’s Passage in Path of Exile 2 | Balbala the Traitor Boss

Going to the Traitor’s Passage is as simple as just going to the caravan and using the Desert Map to teleport yourself to that location. That is quite literally all you need to do.

From here, since the map layouts are going to be different for everybody, simply navigate your way through to this maze until you find an Ancient Seal. Open it and enter the Forgotten Prison of the Traitor.

Here, you will be faced with a boss name Balbala the Traitor. We already have a full guide on how to beat him, but here are some tips if you only want a quick summary of how the fight flows and what to watch out for:

• Most of his attacks are very easy to dodge as they are heavily telegraphed, so just be ready to roll out of the way a lot.
• When yellow circle runes start glowing, you have to step on them in order to stop enemies from spawning in and ruining your day. Balbala will appear above you and attempt to slam down if you do this.
• Balbala will occasionally go invisible, and you must find and approach him. He will become visible as you get close to him, and you need to do this or else the room will fill with poison that will eventually kill you.

That is all you need to know in order to get there and fight the boss. One thing to note is that Balbala should drop a green named item known as Balbala’s Barya. However, certain players have reported that it does not appear for them at all.

This is a known bug that might be fixed soon. For now, if you ever encounter this issue, the best thing you can do is to simply move on and continue with other quests. It is said to be a visual bug, though you can luckily still continue with the main story without finishing this one.
