“Return of the Age of Wolves” is one of the many Codex Tasks you get in Throne & Liberty, and it requires you to participate in the Wolf Hunting Contest event.

The Wolf Hunting Contest event takes place every few hours in the Blackhowl Plains. The area gets littered with Wolf Bait, causing hordes of wolves to appear. Kill as many of these beasts as you can and collect their tails. The more tails you deliver, the better your rewards will be!

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the Wolf Hunting Contest and its associated Codex Task.

Timetable icon

The Wolf Hunting Contest required for the “Return of the Age of Wolves” task is one of the Dynamic World Events in Throne & Liberty. To see when the event will next take place, check the Timetable in-game. You can find it by clicking on the button shown above on PC. If you’re playing on a console, press L2 + Triangle (PlayStation) or LT + Y (Xbox).

Timetable example

The Timetable will show you when the event is next set to start, as you can see above.

Detailed Timetable on the Map

Alternatively, you can check the Timetable while viewing your map. This will show you all of the events for each region, just look for the green wolf icon to find the Wolf Hunting Contest.

Once the event is about to begin, head to the Blackhowl Plains and simply wait. You’ll start hearing an NPC talking about the event, giving you a few minutes to prepare.

Participating in the Wolf Hunting Contest

Starting the Event

As soon as the event begins, hordes of wolves will descend upon the area. You now have 20 minutes to fight the wolves and kill them to collect Wolf Tails. You get 1 Wolf Tail for every kill, and you need to get and deliver at least 10 to complete the “Return of the Age of Wolves” task.

Campsite Map

To deliver the Wolf Tails, go to one of the open Campsites in the region. You can see them in the map above, marked by green box icons. This icon will also mark them for you on the map in-game.

Do note, however, that 2 of the Campsites will close randomly as the event progresses. You’ll get a notification from the event host NPC when this happens. The first random Campsite closes after 11 minutes, while the second closes after 16 minutes. As such, we highly recommend focusing on delivering Wolf Tails when there are only 4 minutes remaining in the event.

Wolf Hunting Contest Event

Also, don’t leave the Blackhowl Plains area while the event is ongoing. You’ll lose all your progress if you do.

Either way, just collect and deliver as many Wolf Tails as you can to complete the Wolf Hunting Contest and the “Return of the Age of Wolves” Codex Task in Throne & Liberty. You should have no trouble collecting the minimum required, as long as you’re not under-leveled, but you can retry once the event starts again.
