Age of Mythology Retold: How To Get Favour

Earn Favor from the Gods

Published

on

Favour is one of the most important resources in Age of Mythology Retold, and you will need tons of it no matter which civilization you play with. Unlike the other resources in this game, Favour must be earned, and the way to earn it will differ from civilization to civilization.

So in this guide, we will be looking at how to get favour with each civilization in Age of Mythology Retold.

How To Get Favour

Greeks

Sending Villagers to a Temple

To earn Favor as the Greeks, you will need to send your Villagers to a Temple. These Villagers will then pray to the Greek gods and passively generate Favor for you. The rate at which you earn Favor will depend on how many Villagers are praying at the Temple. A single Villager will generate 6 Favor per minute, and adding more Villagers will generate more Favor.

Favor you earn from each additional Villager will decrease as you send more Villagers to a Temple. You should try to limit the Villagers at each temple to 8. Any more than that will not be worth it, as the cost of using a Villager will outweigh the Favor you will be earning.

Egyptians

Constructing monuments that generate Favor

Earning Favor with the Egyptians will require you to build specific monuments. These monuments will then passively generate Favor for you.

There are a total of 5 monuments that you can build with the Egyptians to earn Favor. They are:

  1. Monument to the Villagers
  2. Monument to the Soldiers
  3. Monument to the Priests
  4. Monument to the Pharaohs
  5. Monument to the Gods

All of these monuments must also be built in the order they are listed above. As long as a monument is standing, it will earn you Favor. So the Egyptians don’t have to commit any units to earn Favor, but building these monuments will require a lot of resources, especially the last few monuments.

You can also improve the rate at which you generate Favor by empowering your monuments using Pharahos and Priests under Ra.

Norse

Engaging in combat as the Norse

You can earn Favor as the Norse by engaging in combat against enemies. The rate at which you get Favor will depend on the amount of damage you deal. The units you use to deal the damage and the targets you deal damage to will also impact the amount of Favor you get.

You will also earn less Favor if you have a high amount of Favor stored. So up until 100 Favor, the Favor you generate will be constant. Once you hit the 100 mark, the Favor you earn after that will linearly decrease until 300. The multiplier at 300 will be 0.5x, so the Favor you earn will be half of what you would’ve earned at the normal rate.

The Norse are known to be an aggressive civilization, and their Favor generation matches that. So when playing as the Norse, the more aggressive you are, the more Favor you will generate.

Atlanteans

The Oracle unit

Earning Favor with the Atlantean civilization will require you to use the Oracle unit. You can station the Oracle units to scout an area, and the amount of area they are scouting for you will determine the amount of Favor you generate.

The Oracle units can be stationed anywhere, and normally placing them far from your base will let you scout more area, and due to that, generate more Favor. That said, Oracles are very easy to kill, so having them too far from your base will leave them defenseless. It’s also important to note that if 2 Oracles overlap in the area they are scouting, Favor will only generate from one of them.

Atlanteans who worship the god Rheia and research the Horns of Consecration Technology will also be able to earn Favor through Town Centers. The rate at which you earn this Favor will be a bit lower than the rate of Favor from Oracles.
