WoW War Within: Lionel Puzzle Guide

Help the poor fish out!

Published

on

There is an NPC called Lionel that is found in WoW – The War Within who will need your help. Lionel will give you a hint on how to help it but you will need to solve the rest of the puzzle yourself.

Lionel is actually a magical fish that came from Dalaran. And after surviving a crash, it landed on some rocks. You will first need to get it to water and then find a specific type of food for it so it can regain its strength. In this guide, I will show you how to do that.

Guide on the Lionel Puzzle

First of all, make your way to the location where Lionel is found. It is located on the Isle of Dorn and I have marked its exact location on the map below. Set up a waypoint for it like this “/way Isle of Dorn 40.61 59.90 Lionel“.

Once you get there, you will find a Lionel (blue colored fish) on top of some rocks at the bottom of the cliff. Interact with Lionel and then select “Get the fish to the water“. This will make your character kick the fish into the water. A bit cruel but it was needed to save the fish!

NPC

After that, Lionel will ask for a “good meal”. This is the puzzling part of this encounter as “good meal” is not very specific. What this actually means is to get 5 Plump Snapcrabs.

You will find Plump Snapcrabs along the shores in the same general area as Lionel. Simply click on the Plump Snapcrab to collect it. Keep in mind that there are a bunch of mobs in the area so you will likely get attacked by them when you are looking for Plump Snapcrabs.

Get 5 of these Crabs

Once you have collected 5 Plump Snapcrabs, return to Lionel and give them to it. Lionel will thank you for them and reward you with a chest which contains Council of Dornogal Commendation and a Sapphire Crab.

Reward Chest

Note: The chest is kind of bugged so for some players it might not appear right away. Wait 5 minutes and it should pop up.

Whether it's the old classics like Final Fantasy, Advance Wars on the GBA, JRPGs like Persona 4 Golden, Disgaea on the Vita or mainstream titles like Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, Haider has played them all. Even with 200+ titles under his belt, his passion for gaming is just as strong as it was a decade ago. Writing has given him the chance to spread this passion with others.
